                28 Oct - 05:30 PM
                Eveleigh, Australia
We all want to live in cities where we have good quality of life, pleasant places, colourful street life, supportive and creative local communities, smooth transportation, green corridors where we can enjoy good air-quality, and so on. Well, this is your opportunity to help create such a place! This is an exclusive one-off event where you can get to talk to some of the real influencers, movers and shakers that can make such a vision happen. If you have an idea, a business or just a desire to make Sydney and our other great cities more sustainable, liveable, and basically intelligent you can't afford to miss this. You will get an exclusive opportunity to connect to smart city VIPs — across transport, planning, environment, and government.  Help us join the dots in creating a healthy, living and breathing, clever and connected metropolis! Data61 (previously known as NICTA) is running ‘Speed Dating for Smart City Startups’.  Join other startups, stakeholders and problem owners as we connect to collaboratively explore ways technology can improve our cities. With our big cities set to double in size by 2050 and transport and other infrastructure struggling to cope we are calling for creative minds to help us improve how our cities work.  The event is envisaged as the ‘getting to know you’ phase of a co-innovation process.  The goals are to identify and match opportunity to innovators and plan for a follow up event in early December.  The latter could be in the form of a hackathon. Data61 will invite innovators across the urban design and transport sectors – companies like Arup, Deloitte Digital, plus all levels of government and thought leaders like the Committee for Sydney and Greater Sydney Commission.
