Have a disruptive idea for a global business? Now it's the time to learn more about Start-Up Chile and apply! Start-Up Chile (SUP) is a seed accelerator created in 2010 by the Chilean Government and based in Santiago, Chile. It provides equity-free investment for high-potential international entrepreneurs to bootstrap their startups. The selected startups join a 6 months program where they receive a $50K AUD grant, mentoring, pitch training, workshops, office space and access to the most potent social and capital networks in the country. In return, they are asked to give back to the local community, whether that’s taking part in hackathons, or giving talks at universities. In addition, at the end of the program, the best startups will have the option to apply for another $50K AUD if they chose to stay longer in the country. All foreigners also receive a 1-year work visa so they can grow their business from Chile. Start-Up Chile has gained international recognition, been covered in Forbes, The Economist and TechCrunch (among many others) and has inspired multiple similar programs around the world, including the Queensland Government’s Hot DesQ program. Today, Start-Up Chile is one of the biggest and most diverse startup communities in the world.
