Then Digital Tribes hackathon is for you.  There will be an Info Session at CORE Innovation Hub prior to Digital Tribes, where details on the event, devices (Raspberry Pi Zero W), challenges and more will be introduced. Armadale and Perth is filled with budding Change Makers or Social Entrepreneurs just waiting for the opportunity to spark an idea that can help them make a difference in Armadale and the world. These people are everyday people, who just have a passion of helping others or feel it's humanity's responsibility to help solve our own social problems. Are you one of these people? Join us for Armadale's first ever GivingBackathon, our own take on a social innovation hackathon. Places are limited to 100 people, so book your free ticket now. The GivingBackathon runs across two days, Friday night and Saturday. Friday 19 May - 6pm-8:30pm (Dinner provided) Saturday 20 May - 8am - 4:30pm (Lunch provided) The event will essentially take a traditional Hackathon approach, creating 8 teams around important social issues, then take them through the Design Thinking Process to come up with innovative ideas, test them, prototype them and at the end of the event pitch them against the 8 other ideas. These ideas can be technology focused but doesn't have to be. On Saturday afternoon, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize will be awarded to the 3 most innovative ideas, decided by our panel of independent judges. If you haven’t done anything like this before, think of it as a great learning opportunity - there will be plenty of mentors and volunteers on the days to help or answer any questions. Participants, industry professionals, and innovators are invited to the launch of the Shield-X challenge. Hear from the Shield-X team; BHP Billiton, Barrick, Caterpillar and Unearthed about how this unique challenge will impact and change industry approaches to innovation and collaboration. The Shield-X Challenge is a week long hardware hackathon kicking off at this event. Participants are challenged to design and prototype a 'Safe-Stop' wearable PPE device for autonomous mining equipment, with the chance to win over $20,000 in cash and attend a technology workshop with the Shield-X partners to assess their design Participants can submit their prototypes from anywhere around the world with space available for prototyping here in Perth at CORE.

The University of Western Australia Young Engineers invites you to participate in the 2017 Visagio Hackathon. You'll be challenged to work in a team to solve a problem related to Global Health.
