Ideas to Unfuck the World: Social Justice Hackathon
22 Sep - 03:00 PM
Adelaide, Australia
CALLING THE REBELS, INSTIGATORS, MISCHEIF MAKERS & CHANGE CREATORS!!! Please excuse our French...its for a good cause we promise!
Join us for a social and environmental justice hackathon like no other!
To celebrate global Unfuck the World Day on June 9th 2018, we will bring together 30 young rebels WITH a cause, together with mentors, to ideate solutions to some of the worlds most complex social and environmental challenges.
24 Hours
50 rebels with a cause
1 goal - To UNFUCK the world!!!
Why?
Its easy to feel like the world is fucked. We are living in times of increasing poverty and prejudice, hate and hunger, divisions and disaster...and its easy to let this shit get you down. BUT... for every problem we face there is a solution waiting to be born. For every worry we share, there is a growing sense of hope, a belief that together, we can build a brave new world. A world built on mad love for ALL people and planet.
Martin Luther King said that ‘if the world were to end tomorrow, I would still plant an apple tree today’. Ideas to Unfuck the World is a social and environmental justice hackathon that supports young people 18-30 years old to plant seeds of change today, in the face of an uncertain tomorrow.
We are inspired daily by the raw energy, beauty and brilliance of youth. We also value the experience and grit of older activists who have dedicated their lives to fighting for what they believe. And we believe that bringing young and old(er) together, to create meaningful change, is the secret to Unfuck it this big, bad, beautiful world of ours.
How?
Over 24 hours 30 young people 18-30 years old will work in small teams to address a number of problems that have been selected through consultation with our local and global networks. Throughout the challenge you will have access to a range of mentors and can take part in a series of workshops to help you develop and pitch your ideas.
The hackathon will be followed by a public pitch event where teams will have the opportunity to share their ideas to the audience and receive feedback from an expert panel of changemakers. The audience will get to put their money where their mouth is an donate $10 from the price of their ticket to their favourite idea, helping raise money for the teams to turn their ideas into action. We’ll also work with the teams after the event to help connect you with people who might be able to help you on your journey.
For more info give Nia a shout on 0404 959 055 or at hello@freeyourawesome.org

Founders Space: Peak Personal Performance
21 Aug - 07:45 AM
Thebarton, Australia
We're excited to announce that our next Founders Space event will see us host Aaron Birkby, co-founder of 3:00AM Founders, CEO of Startup Catalyst and co-founder of Peak Persona.
Through Peak Persona, Aaron has worked closely with over a thousand entrepreneurs, founders and investors from around the world and interviewed numerous successful entrepreneurs and professional sports people. As a result, over the past five years of working in the startup sector, Aaron has recognised patterns of behaviour that separate the successful from the unsuccessful.
Those patterns of behaviour include daily and weekly routines, habits, tips and tools, which Peak Persona has adopted and distilled into programs that other founders can adapt and adopt.
Aaron works with founders to consciously engineer their lives for success and ensure they can operate at their peak and will be discussing this topic with Founders at this exclusive event.
Join us as we present a Founders Space breakfast event to help startups develop habits to ensure they achieve Peak Personal Performance!
Light breakfast served from 7:45am.
