Come invent something silly! Participate in the Stupid Shit No One Needs and Terrible Ideas Hackathon! This is exactly what you would expect: a one-day event where participants create projects that have no value whatsoever and solve problems that don't even exist. It's also a great way to stretch your skills for a project that doesn't really matter! Select a category -- like Smart Garbage, or Edible Electronics -- pick a stupid project and a team, and get ready to build something stupid for a chance to win a useless prize! If you do not have a team organized prior to the event you can take your chances on showing up as an individual with no plans and no prep and form a team and idea at the hackathon! It's fun either way!

This ia 3-days hackathon for creative problem solving, and rapid venture development taking place at the University of Alberta. Everyone is welcome to join this event, whether you’re a student in computer science, engineering, design, or business, there will be ample opportunity to bringing a project to life! The eHUB Hackathon will revolve around building technological solutions to issues ranging from business needs to social conundrums. Participants will have the option of joining a wide range of high-potential eHUB teams. High-performing groups will have a chance to secure summer-long internships to execute on their idea with organizations such as Alberta TechWorks and the University of Alberta Senate or with start-ups including CONNECTIA, EveryRole, FitSet, Intelife, and Tablespace.

AGE-WELL NCE is a national research network in technology and with aim to help older Canadians to maintain their independence, health and quality of life. HHYEG 2016 has adopted the AGE-WELL theme for the hackathon as it perfectly aligns with the objective of Hacking Health: to bring innovation to healthcare and health technology.
