HackED Beta is a welcoming event that provides a great learning environment for students from any program of study or school (including our high school friends!) Whether or not you have programmed before does not matter! We want you here regardless your level of experience!
Mentorship
Mentors from cool startups in Edmonton and grad students of the University of Alberta will be available throughout the event to help students along with their projects.

Ludum Dare Hackathon

Ludum Dare is the oldest International Game Creation Competition. The theme will be released at 7:00pm MDT and the contest will last 72 hours. Nimble Programmer will host a hackathon from 6:30 to 9pm on the 20th and 10am to 2pm on the 21st.
Pre-requisites: Age 16 and above. Younger than 16 may participate with an adult.
We will be using Ruby/Gosu and participants can meet others and form teams on the first night. Participants can use other game frameworks if they like. We will have a few monitors but competitors should bring their own equipment such as Mac or PC laptops or a Raspberry Pi 3. (Gosu runs slowly on a Raspberry Pi Zero due to lack of a graphics processor.)
This will be in our bootcamp classrom at 9125 50 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 2H3. Room N218
Includes pizza and refreshments both days.

Hackers in Alberta! The Computer Engineering Club of the University of Alberta invites you to participate in HackED 2018. In this 24-hour event, you'll be challenged to design and build an awesome digital project and compete for your piece of a $CA 1250 prize pool.
