Tian Zhao
The name’s Tian and blockchain + product (UX/UI) design + social innovation/impact is my game. My foray into the realm of blockchain began when I met Vitalik Buterin in 2015 in Waterloo followed by befriending several industry leaders within the space such as William Mougayar as well as having worked at a few blockchain companies such as Cryptiv. I’m currently working at Maropost where I’m building out their design system but on the side I’m working with a blockchain-based social enterprise called Raise and will be teaching a course on product design + blockchain at The Blockchain Hub. Outside of work I love to perform by singing and playing the piano; I was the founder of UofT-choir Tales of Harmonia, play video games, hang out with friends, and write on Medium; I was recently a freelancer writer at Coinsquare. I also love traveling with a purpose - I've been to Silicon Valley and New York City several times for invite-only hackathons and conferences, as well as to the Bahamas for a week-long entrepreneurship competition called Starter Island, and I was recently in Munich, Germany for a 3-month experiential learning program called the Digital Product School all about agile, lean, and design-thinking.
