Teams of 4 will be assembled at the event to develop the coolest and cutting-edge Alexa-driven voice controlled apps. The teams will be provided with the Alexa Skills Kit (Smart Home Skill API) to create exciting apps to control your choice of Internet of Things (IoT) device.

Hacking Health is hosting an 8-week Design Challenge to improve healthcare by mixing technology creators and healthcare professionals to work on realistic, human-centric solutions to front-line problems. Come and tackle real problems together with the support of professional mentors! Mentors and digital health experts will meet with the teams throughout the day to offer feedback and suggest ways to improve their prototypes. Teams will then spend the next 24 hours modifying, improving, testing, validating and tuning their prototypes in preparation for the demo competition. Once the hacking is complete, all teams will be evaluated by an expert panel of judges. Come and make your projects a reality.

This hackathon is inviting all developers and artists to be one of the first ones to get a hands-on experience with Holus and giving them the opportunity to create and test out one of the first holographic applications on Holus. Holus is a tabletop platform that converts any digital content from a computer, tablet or smartphone into a 3D, holographic experience. Game developers can create 3D holographic games, 3D modellers can visualize their creations, and families can bring back board game nights. Businesses can integrate Holus into their service or processes to enhance customer experiences and increase efficiency. The possibilities are endless!

ProtoHack exists to show non-coders that they can create something amazing from nothing. We empower and enable the non-technical community with the tools, knowledge and connections that will help bring their idea to life and visually communicate it through prototyping. How does it work? No coding is required. Instead you will use prototyping tools, drag and drop editors, mockups, wireframes and anything else you can think of to VISUALLY demo your idea on stage. (We’ve put together the best tools for non-coders, so don’t fret if you’ve never prototyped.) Although we encourage you to try some prototyping tools prior to attending ProtoHack, we will begin ProtoHack with optional educational workshops on how to use some of the top prototyping tools. You can choose to prototype alone or form a team with other participants and decide on an idea together. Teams can be up to 5 people. You will have 9 hours to produce a prototype. (Remember, you are creating a lean prototype of your idea and it doesn't need to be perfect. The focus should be on visually showing what the idea is.)
