What to expect:
Click here to view this year's schedule
On the first night, anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea (optional) and receive feedback from everyone. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation over the Saturday and Sunday. We also have mentors on Saturday to help provide coaching and advice to each of the teams. Then on Sunday all of the teams present in front of a judging panel of local entrepreneurial leaders, for a chance to win prizes and the title of winner of Startup Weekend Hamilton 6! After the conference is over, roughly 80% of attendees plan on continuing to work on their startup after the weekend.
Note: You do not need to pitch an idea to participate! Idea pitching is completely optional. You can listen to everyone else's idea pitches on the Friday evening, and you get to vote on your favourites, and then join any group you'd like to help out and support with your skills and talents.
