#HACKMINING: A 3-day hackathon to innovate the mining industry

Students and start-ups are invited to participate in the Canada Mining Innovation Council's #HACKMINING. This is a three-day hackathon intended to innovate the mining industry. If you win, your solution will be presented at the CMIC National Mining Innovation Forum on June 6th, 2017. You'll get to address one of the two following mining industry challenges:
1:Transporting ore and waste from difficult-to-access areas, or
2:Reducing the volume of mine tailings.

On March 26th, we will be collaborating with Shecosystem for our "Hack for Craft" Hackathon!For girls ages 10-13, we will be using a variety of different software to code, design and make our ideas come to life. The challenge: Finding a way to support local and international artisans through technology. During this 3-hour hackathon, girls will be divided into teams and work collaboratively, while being mentored by their team leader. Girls will learn how the power of technology can change the lives of others (and themselves!), and understand the importance of keeping arts, craft and creativity alive.

It’s your chance to unlock the next billion dollars of impact investing for social entrepreneurs working around the Globe. Studio Y's Finance Cluster and MaRS and teaming up to conduct a weekend long co-design on hacking the impact investing ecosystem.
