CPA Hacks - Harness data and technology to disrupt traditional financial analysis
13 Sep - 04:22 PM
Toronto, Canada
$3,500
Embracing data-driven financial analysis:
CPAs offer a strong set of accounting and financial statement analysis skills required for today's complex and evolving business environment. Financial statements are the universal reporting tools which investors, banks, and other professionals use to evaluate a business. However, stakeholders are increasingly relying on non-traditional data, alongside environmental, social and governance (ESG) information to monitor and evaluate businesses, often in real-time. Therefore, traditional approaches to financial statement analysis must evolve to meet the expanding needs of these data-driven stakeholders.
When is it?
September 13, 2019 (6:30 pm) to September 14, 2019 (7:30 pm)
Location: Devhub Toronto
Are you up for the challenge?
Assemble your team of four to six individuals, develop a solution, and present it to a panel of judges for a chance to win one of two cash prizes.
Don't have a team? Don't worry! We'll match you up with other participants.
A chance to win one of two cash prizes:
1st Place Team: $3,500

Civic Tech Toront'os policy has been adapted from the Recurse Center’s Social Rules, and the anti-harassment policy from the Geek Feminism Wiki.
GO Open Data is dedicated to providing a harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, technical skill level or economic standing. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate any time, including in present. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or asked to leave, at the discretion of the organizers.
Harassment includes verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the organizing team immediately.
Organizers will be happy to help participants contact local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.

You can email hackwescam@l3t.com for any questions you have. We'll respond as quickly as we can.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Nope. We'll have your name and you'll have your ID so that should do it.
Can I update my registration information?
Yup. Eventbrite will notify us of any updates to your registration. If you want to be extra sure, email us at hackwescam@l3t.com to be sure.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Nope. Please register using your normal/given name and what matches your ID. Registering as "Breezy" or "HackDAWG" won't get you very far...
