List of hackathons in Roubaix, France in 2018

We invite you to "Workshop Hackathon #1".  The workshop introduces the first of a series of hackathons, each with a different dataset from the National Institute for Sickness and Invalidity Benefit (RIZIV/INAMI)). Attendees of the workshop can take part in the hackathon, which will take place in January 2019. The hackathons can identify the obstacles in the FAIR use of data, and help formulate, test and implement solutions to these obstacles. The initiators are convinced that invitees can use these hackathons to discover and use the potential of these data for their own objectives. This includes scientific research, but also a more effective development of medicines and medical devices, better patient care, improvement and support of clinical trials, support for personalized care, support for prevention, patient-oriented care, and lower medical costs. Invitees are primarily, but non-exhaustive: all service providers and knowledge institutes active in the field of health care (including drug development, development of medical devices, ...), health economics, information management, privacy and safety, legislation (colleges, ...) both public and private organizations, profit and non-profit (data science communities, open data communities, open knowledge communities, ...) organizations.

The hivhack is the data4good initiative driven by the data science community of Belgium supported by Johnson-Johnson Global Public Health. The HIV epidemic has claimed numerous lives since its discovery in the 80’s. Over the years, the efforts and coordinated work of national programs, the civil society and development partners have allowed to achieve tremendous progress. Even though there is still no cure for HIV, effective treatments have been developed and they can offer to patients long and healthy lives. However, treatments must be rigorously followed throughout life to successfully contain the virus. Failing to adhere to the treatment can lead to a mutation of the HIV into a form resistant to the available treatments. This is how HIV Drug Resistance can emerge.  Following the massive increase of people on treatment (from less than 800 000 in 2000 to more than 18 millions in 2016), a non-negligible rise in the prevalence of resistant HIV strains has emerged and threatens the global commitment to end the HIV epidemic by 2030. If no action is taken now, and this problem left unaddressed, HIV Drug Resistance could lead to a new crisis in the HIV epidemic. Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the situation by rallying active medicals, data scientists and commercials in the HIV fight and share their knowledge.  Phase 2 : Hackathon On November 23rd & 24th 2018, with the acquired information, dive into the heart of the question and devise solutions with your team. Phase 3 : Deliver solutions locally - 1 week February/March 2019 Winners of the hackathon will test and apply their solutions/method in the field with a local expert research team. Le 9 novembre et le 10 novembre 2018, l’Ordre français des avocats du barreau de Bruxelles,  le Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten Bij de Balie te Brussel organisent à l’intermédiaire de l’Incubateur européen du barreau de Bruxelles et en collaboration avec le Centre Perelman de l’Université libre de Bruxelles le premier hackathon juridique belge.   Le hackathon est un concours réunissant des personnes disposant de compétences juridiques ou informatiques. Il prend la forme d’une compétition entre des projets présentant des aspects informatiques et destinés à faciliter le travail des avocats. Ces projets sont réalisés par des équipes en fonction d’un cahier des charges. Le thème du concours pour l’année 2018 est la récupération de créance. Les meilleurs projets sont récompensés par des prix d’un montant total de 6000 Euros.   Les équipes sont formées par les organisateurs afin de garantir une répartition équitable des compétences. Les langues de travail sont l’anglais  ou le français en fonction de la composition des équipes. L'anglais et le français pourront être utilisés dans la présentation finale.   L’inscription et la participation au Hackathon est gratuite. Toutefois, afin de s’assurer du sérieux des inscriptions, une caution de 5 euros est demandée lors de celle-ci, dont la restitution est garantie à tous les participants effectifs au concours. Tout commence le samedi matin par l’audition de pitch d’idées et continue par des sessions de brainstorming, de développement de business plans et de co-création. hackARENA culmine le dimanche par des démonstrations et des présentations. A full hands-on coding weekend for newbies in VR, organized around workshops, exercises & coaching. 3 different tracks (Unity3D, WebVR & Blender) to chose from. If you got what it takes, you might succeed. This is an original program specifically tailored for this weekend, based on VR & coding teaching experience. Join in !

1 weekend/ 48 hours to build a VR experience from a coding or a 3D design point of view !2 technologies will be proposed : WebVR or Unity3D - stick to the one that suits you.1 hardware : Oculus Go Friday 12 October - 6pm, bring your computer, download your pack with the essential code scripts, 3D assets & scenarios - you have a full weekend (on your own, or as part of a team) to cross the finish line on Sunday 4pm with an operational/ working VR scene. Throughout the whole weekend, numerous workshops on dedicated tech topics will be given any time of the day / night in order to help you out, and coaches will deblock you on these expected "ahaaaaa-I'm-blocked" moment. Coaches/ experts will be actively participating on their own challenge : get at least 75% of the participants crossing the finish line of a working experience & improving their coaching/teaching skills. Sunday 14 October - 6pm, go home and get some well deserved sleep - you got some new tech skills to test a growing industry. This program is completely tailored for participants eager to increase their tech skills. This is not a start-up weekend,  a hackathon nor a linear workshop - but more a coding "bootcamp" program organized around exercises and coding challenges. Part of a team or alone, deliver on time & beat the LearnAthon ! Certificates will be delivered after the session.
