Brace yourselves, it’s already been a huge year of IXDS parties and it’s about to get even bigger because it’s time for the massive yearly Summer Party! This year, summer festivities will once again be combined with “NACHTSCHICHT – The Berlin Design Night”, a night where design studios and agencies throughout the city open their doors.

It's time to hack with again! This time, the topic is “EcoCities”. Our urban living environments need to be shaped for tomorrow's challenges. Do you also have the vision to live in a green and CO² free city? Breath clean air, picnic under trees and in parks while sharing, liking and following things online? Would you maybe consume your own produced energy or share it with your neighbor? Which utilities and services e.g. lightning, public services, waste collection … need to become more intelligent and simultaneously speeding up to better Now is the right time to start developing ideas and business models around your vision of tomorrow's EcoCity.

Is the bot revolution right around the corner? What new possibilities await us in this data-driven paradigm of customer-brand interaction? Come and explore the possibilities—push the limits of modern customer interaction with data-driven approaches, AI and the newly available bot-APIs from various messaging platforms like Facebook and others.

This is your opportunity to design the future of human computer interaction using the latest tools for a more natural interactions with technology! Work together with other creative minds and build cool innovative apps that challenge and inspire. There will be some presentations on platform-independent apps with Xamarin, the new MS Bot Framework, Voice integration with Cortana, and an introduction to Git, Universal apps, etc ... All technology enthusiasts are welcome!

The IATA NDC Hackathon will be made up of a series of workshops, around Business Travel and a chance to present to 120+ Corporate Buyers at the IATA Business Travel Summit in Geneva, Switzerland and/or to Airline Executives and 600+ travel industry professionals at IATA’s World Passenger Symposium (WPS) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Your aim will be to use the NDC API to completely transform the current business travel experience. You are free to add social media features, virtual reality and others to bring that business travel booking app up a notch.

This is a hackathon organised by AT&T Germany bringing together over 100 IT experts to share their skills and experiences and work together to build tools with open data and open knowledge. The event will also include a Python on Linux Workshop, a Perl on Linux Workshop, and a IoT Prototyping with Python.

Hack together with 50 other coders at one of Europe’s fastest growing startups. Come up with new ways to find the right sound for the moment and create new ways on how to record and create videos to communicate with others. Enjoy an amazing bunch experience with tech-talks, food, drinks, prizes and a whole lot of fun!

The ThinkCamp is a mixed event focusing on the Open Space, BarCamp and Hackathon formats that provide an open and creative environment for developing new ideas and projects. ThinkCamps invite participants from a diverse range of disciplines, skill-sets and experiences to collaborate together on addressing problems, rising to challenges, and taking advantage of new opportunities. At the ECSA ThinkCamp these will take the form of Citizen Science Challenges. Attendees will be presented with a number of Challenges to explore and invited to join the discussion at the ‘working group’ table around that issue. Feel free to move amongst the Challenges based on what you can learn, contribute, or simply enjoy being part of. There will be a Show & Tell at the end of the day, for each Challenge ‘owner’ and the teams that emerged to present back to all Conference attendees what took shape during the ThinkCamp. Support will be offered by the ThinkCamp organisers to take any of those ideas forward beyond the event itself.

This hackathon for journalists, designers, technologists and artists to come together and develop solutions for public service journalism. A challenge to find a solution a solution for journalists to connect the dots between the complex forces driving the state of Europe in ways that help communities engage with fact based reporting and information. The solution can be technological, network, story-based or design in nature.  It can be of an app, a network initiative or editorial collaboration. Teams have the freedom to imagine totally unique approaches!

This is a two day hackathon to work on new ideas and applications. Apps World Germany is the main meeting place for the growing European developer community, new and exciting start-ups and the most innovative mobile first brands, to discuss the hottest and most current topics within the mobile and app space in the region.
