AR/VR developers and designers in and around Hanover! You're invited to participate in the Hackvention AR / VR Hackathon 2017. In this hackathon, which is part of the three-part event series, you'll be challenged to design a future-oriented VR app that addresses the market and customer requirements provided by participating companies.

Our Hackvention Event Series is made up of three different parts: the hackvention experience tour, the hackvention creative lab and the hackvention summit. Our Experience Tour will take you to all the global innovations hotspots – including California’s iconic Silicon Valley, Israel’s thriving Tel Aviv technology hub and China's Shenzhen startup metropolis. In this hackathon, which is part of the three-part event series, you'll be challenged to design a future-oriented VR app that addresses the market and customer requirements provided by participating companies.

We celebrate 12 great pitches and a mindblowing keynote after 36 hours pure hackathon. The Founders Hack is a hackathon weekend where teams create solutions on the base of existing problems or future visions of the participating companies. The corporates bring challenges out of their business and the teams design solutions wich has the potential of a highflying StartUp.

Taucht ein in die Welt der virtuellen Realität! Wir zeigen euch Schritt für Schritt, wie ihr eigene 3D-Spiele entwickeln könnt und diese VR-fähig macht. Zum Testen verwendet ihr eure eigenen Phones sowie von uns bereitgestellte VR-Pappbrillen. Für ausreichend Verpflegung (Pizza und Getränke) ist gesorgt – kostenlos! Wer kann teilnehmen? Zur Spieleentwicklung braucht es Programmierer, aber auch kreative Köpfe und Grafik-Designer. Im Allgemeinen ist jeder willkommen, der Interesse an Virtual Reality und Game Development hat. Was muss ich mitbringen? Einen Laptop/PC mit Windows oder macOS sowie ein Smartphone mit Android, iOS oder Windows 10 Mobile. USB-Kabel nicht vergessen! Falls vorhanden, bringt auch Bluetooth-Controller (z.B. von der Xbox One S), -Tastaturen und -Mäuse mit, um das Spiel mit aufgesetzter VR-Brille steuern zu können. Mehrfachsteckdosen werden auch immer gebraucht. Wie ist der Ablauf? Wir beginnen möglichst pünktlich gegen 17 Uhr mit einem Einführungsvortrag zum Thema VR-Spieleentwicklung. Dabei lernt ihr 3D-Szenen zu erstellen, Spiellogik zu scripten usw. Anschließend ist Zeit, kleine Teams zu bilden und eine Spielidee zu finden. Die meiste Zeit des Abends verbringt ihr damit, eure Ideen umzusetzen. Zum Testen verwendet ihr eure eigenen Phones sowie von uns bereitgestellte VR-Pappbrillen (ähnlich zu Google Cardboard). Natürlich unterstützen wir euch jederzeit bei technischen Problemen und beantworten Fragen. Zwischendurch gibt es Pizza und Getränke.
