The Microsoft Student Partner Gaming Hackathon has taken place in several German universities to give students the opportunity to make their game ideas become reality. Throughout this weekend students will be making small games together with small teams which will then be published in order to get a chance to win amazing prices such as Raspberry Pi and Xbox One. Deutsche Bahn manages stations, railways, bridges, tunnels, parking spaces and large construction projects. For their 3rd Hackathon, they will be providing their information to the general public to find innovative ideas and collaborative cooperation to suit their infrastructure.

A hackathon for you to create a smartwatch app using the power of location awareness. Your wearable geo-app should run on Android Wear, Apple Watch, and Samsung Tizen, the three leading platforms for smartwatches. Come and meet developers, learn from others, and win big cash prizes!

What is the Free Knowledge Game Jam? Free Knowledge Game Jam is organised by Wikimedia Deutschland in partnership with Computerspielemuseum Berlin. The 2-day hackathon is centered around Free Knowledge in game developing. In groups you will build a prototype of a game in 24 hours. More detailed information can be found on our website www.wikimedia.de/Game_Jam.    When is the Free Knowledge Game Jam held?  We open our doors on Saturday, October 24th at 10am and run until 2am. Our site is open Sunday, October 25h morning. The Free Knowledge Game Jam is a 2-day event, but our site closes at night so participants can go home and get rested for the next day. Participants should plan to attend the entire duration of the event as your team will need you to complete your game!   Food Food is provided and available on-site.   Restrictions We currently have 100 slots open. This site will not have on-site security. All participants must be 18 years or older.   What to bring? Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop, especially if they already have licenses of any software they want to use.   I've never made a game before! Great! Maybe you don't know how to program but can provide assets (art, sound, etc...) or you are an experienced game player and want to take a stab at testing or design. We want you here! We'll also be making tabletop games (board, card, live action, etc...) so don't let not being able to program keep you from participating!  

Science Hack Day brings together designers, developers, scientists, and other geeks in the same physical space for a brief but intense period of collaboration, hacking and building.

The theme of the hackathon is “diversity in tech”. We want to attract more women to the IT industry and make sure they feel comfortable and their ideas and skills are appreciated. A hackathon, as a concept, is simple. Starting on Friday, we come together to find groups to work in. Until Sunday evening we build prototypes, concepts and projects which we believe in.   Taking part in the event, you are coached and helped by experts, you have access to resources and people whom you would never meet "outside". It is a weekend of free thinking with focus on current issues and projects of passion. But, you need to deliver! This we believe, is how change happens. Not just talk, but action.   What can we achieve? In Vienna on our first event, 66 health hackers came up with 17 ideas. Out of this 8 ideas survived and groups were formed which worked on them in collaborative and interdisciplinary fashion. Out of those 8 projects only one didn’t make it to it’s finalization. The remaining diverse set of 7 projects were then presented and applauded by our participants. Among those 7 projects were: mySugr Buddy - Improving diabetes therapy with the help of artificial intelligence and surveys in a game like manner. Speech Therapy Games - To support children in their speech correction, this team developed a game that helps them with the pronunciation of words, syllables and the creation of noises. Sigmund Frog - Children’s waiting rooms are boring and could be way more exciting! With the help of an XBOX and Kinect, children are educated in a game like manner how to brush their teeth. Currently being developed together with Tieto Enator and MS!     What do I need? Meteor Hackathon in RoofUp! Meteor is a super exciting startup out of San Francisco building a platform that is the fastest way to build web and mobile apps. They're really at the forefront of what you can do fast with technology, which makes it a great fit for startups. This distributed hackathon, taking place over the weekend of October 10th and 11th, will have chapters working out of meteor startups worldwide. We only have limited space for 50 people (and dedicated internet for the first 25), so we will collect a deposit fee which we will return to the first 25 who register, and those who show up with their own 3G connections. It will be a great chance to work on some interesting apps and make better connections within the community.  Sure you could hack alone, but why would you? Roof Up is a great location.
