For the first time the Copernicus Hackathon is coming to Northern Greece! Calling all coders, researchers, scientists, tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, topic-specific experts, designers, storytellers, problem-solvers, and other creative minds to join us and create something groundbreaking!  Are you ready to live the experience and unleash your potential?  Whether you have a great idea and feel ready to build a prototype using Space Data and Earth Observation (EO) Services, or if you just want to further develop your skills, interact with amazing people and have fun while working on an actual business challenge, join the Copernicus Thessaloniki Hackathon that will take place at OK!Thess on 29/11-1/12. The challenge: Using the moto “Sustainable solutions for a sustainable way of living” the Copernicus Thessaloniki Hackathon invites participants to work collaboratively in a team in order to think of any innovative solution that supports a sustainable way of living and use the Copernicus EO data and services to build a prototype! You may think of any solution, either it refers to urban and rural areas, or the aquatic and atmospheric environment. You need to emphasise and take advantage of the Copernicus data and/or services During the event: Our mentors will be there to listen to your ideas and concerns, inspire you, challenge you and guide the business, or technical aspects of your idea. All teams will get access to Copernicus data and tools, the EU funded DIAS cloud service platforms and the backbone of our EO infrastructure which is the “DRAXIS data platform” (serving EO data and services).     Copernicus Thessaloniki Hackathon Pre-Event Meetup

    For the first time the Copernicus Hackathon is coming to Northern Greece and it is only three weeks away! Join us on our pre-event Meetup on Wednesday November 13th, 7:00 pm, at OK!Thess, to start together the Copernicus Hackathon journey! 7:00 pm-7:15 pm: Welcome to the meetup, grab some food and meet other people before the talks start! What we will talk about: Mr. Stavros Tekes - our CTO - will go through the hackathon rules, the evaluation criteria and all the details about how those two days will run. Mr. Stelios Kotsopoulos - one of Agroapps EO experts - will talk about the Copernicus EO data and services following a section where he will present ideas of solutions that could be built using such data, in order to help participants come up with more ideas on what to work on the hackathon. Mr. Athanasios Fotis - one of our Senior Developers - will present the services & systems that the organizers and local partners will provide to the teams to use for the hackathon. It is mainly services offering EO raw data, final products and hosting facilities that could be used by the teams to build and deliver their applications. We anticipate that there will be a Q&A session after each part of the presentations in order to discuss with all of you and answer to any questions you might have.
