Eng. Martin Obuya's Wake

The Nailab, in conjunction with iHub, ISOC (Internet Society- Kenya Chapter), ICT Authority and Kictanet, will be holding a wake to honor the life of Eng. Martin Obuya. The late Martin passed away after a short illness in December 2017 and will be buried on 20th January 2018.  Martin was an instrumental part of the Nairobi innovation community and wore different hats over the years. To offset medical and funeral bills, contributions are being collected via Mpesa Paybill 860173, account name Martin K. Obuya. We look forward to having you with us as we celebrate a life well lived.   PROFILE Eng. Martin Obuya was the President and Chairman of Internet Society Kenya Chapter (ISOC Kenya). He was also the Founder and Chairman of LiJoMe Group Incorporation. The late Eng.Martin was also the Projects Director and Chief Expansion Strategist for DEMO Africa. He was also a member of the Technical Committees of International Telecommunications Union (ITU), African Telecommunications Union (ATU), Forum of International Independent Association (FIINA) and Southern African Telecommunications Association (SATA). Additionally, the Late Eng. Martin was an Advisor for Euro Africa ICT, TechSoup Global, BusinessCom Networks and Xprize. He was a Board Member of Tech Executive Council, Pro Sports East Africa, Konfidants, Drones Systems East Africa and Aero Dimensions Africa. He was also a Judge/Chief Judge in various Hackathons held locally, regionally and internationally over the past nine years.  Eng. Martin was an iHub Ambassador, in addition to being an integral part of the iHub’s policy formulation team. He was a dear community member of the iHub and Nailab and will be greatly missed.
