      RESO DataComp Hackathon
      17 Oct - 01:00 PM
      San Diego, United States
RESO DATACOMP: Win up to 25K in Cash                          Build an amazing Real Estate product and compete to win up to $25,000 in cash.   Build Anything: Mobile, Web, APP, VR, AR, Hardware - if you can dream it then we want to see you build it.  Dream about changing the real estate industry with an innovative product? Now's your chance to shine and, potentially win up to $25K in Cash!  Make your dream a reality! Enter to win up to $25,000 with RESO DataComp '17 today - entries are limited! The Real Estate Standards Organization, more affectionately known as RESO, is upping the stakes in real estate software. Each year the most important people in real estate, the people who are behind the code of your favorite real estate products, gather each year to help move real estate technology forward.  Change the course of Real Estate history. Real Estate represents one of the most fundamental attributes in the world economy. Unfortunately, innovation is slowed by the difficulty to access essential data. RESO DataComp is working with industry leaders to make this data available to the smartest and most innovative thinkers enabling them to explore new ideas in the world of Real Estate. The mission of DataComp is for bold thinkers to explore the opportunities created when ease of access to data is available. This is open to all technology sectors including mobile, web, VR and AR, device, hardware, and drone applications.  This competition is focused on using RESO compliant APIs. Just a quick history lesson: Before RESO existed most real estate listing data was delivered via "RETS" or the Real Estate Transaction Standard. Without diving too deep into the details this was a cumbersome and outdated way to find real estate data. RESO has ushered in a new and modern approach with their Web API. This allows developers to request listings in real time with out needing to duplicate an entire database.  RESO DATACOMP is working with a handful of providers that are RESO compliant and are approved for use in this competition. You may use an additional source of data to complement your product but you MUST use an approved data API as your main data source.  MEET THE JUDGES Chris Heller - Chris serves as the owner and operator of several Keller Williams market centers and has helped build Keller Williams into one of the largest and fastest growing real estate franchise operations in the world. As the industry’s first and most widely utilized listings API, Spark is the benchmark delivering efficiency, streamlined licensing, robust documentation and most importantly, access to the data you need to create awesome products. Data Available: There are three main categories of data available through the API: Listings, Contacts and Market Stats. The access level to each data type is dependent on the role assigned to each user. For example, members of the MLS can access more listing information than consumers on an IDX web site. More information on roles is here. Documentation can be found here! https://www.sparkplatform.com/docs/supporting_documentation/api_clients Spark API RESO Web API: https://www.sparkplatform.com/docs/reso/overview Bridge Interactive We know how difficult it can be to ingest, map and maintain real estate data, so we’ve done the work for you. Kickoff for the 2017 D4SD Civic Design Challenge
            21 Sep - 10:00 AM
            San Diego, United States
In a combined effort to solve complex city problems through human-centered design and crowdsourcing, the University of California San Diego Design Lab has launched a city-wide civic design challenge called Design for San Diego (D4SD.org) with support from the City of San Diego, the National Science Foundation, the Design Forward Alliance, and SCALE SD. This year’s D4SD challenge focuses on urban mobility. We all have places to go and people to see. So whether you’re traveling by car, bike, train, bus, boat or foot for work or play, mobility significantly affects millions of city goers everyday. Join D4SD for an unique opportunity to compete and collaborate with other city innovators to help solve some of the most pressing mobility-related issues facing our city. Participants will have opportunities to work and learn from UC San Diego Design Lab educators and the City of San Diego data science team to use their Open Data portal (data.sandiego.gov). The best solutions will earn cash prizes and private one-on-one meetings with city leaders and startup investors. On September 21, join Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer, UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep K.
