Was ist ein CGI Hackathon Start-up Event? Ursprünglich begann ein Hackathon als eine informelle Veranstaltung insbesondere für Hard- und Softwareentwickler, die sich intensiv mit Software-Projekten beschäftigten und innovative Lösungen erarbeiteten. Heutzutage reicht die Teilnahme von guten Programmierern für ein erfolgreiches Projekt nicht mehr aus, wodurch der Teilnehmerkreis erweitert wurde. Bei den Hackathon Start-Up-Days von CGI und dem IIS-Lehrstuhl sind alle Studierenden und Absolventen aus sämtlichen Fachrichtungen wie BWL, VWL, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Informatik, Biologie, Mathematik, etc. herzlich Willkommen. Es werden motivierte Studenten gesucht, die sich für das Thema Digitalisierung bzw. digitale Transformation in Handelsunternehmen interessieren und innovative Ideen zu diesem Gebiet entwickeln sowie konzipieren wollen. Dabei werden die Teilnehmenden mit praxisnahen Herausforderungen aus der Branche konfrontiert und erhalten dabei Unterstützung von erfahrenen Beratern von CGI. Das Ziel des Hackathons ist die Schaffung neuer Ideen, um neue Wertschöpfungspotenziale in Handelsunternehmen zu identifizieren und auszuarbeiten. Die kreierten Lösungen werden anschließend von einer kompetenten und vielfältigen Jury, die sich aus Personen von CGI und dem IIS-Lehrstuhl zusammensetzt, bewertet. Die besten Lösungen werden dabei mit hochwertigen Preisen ausgezeichnet. Wann und wo findet der Hackathon statt? Ders Event findet von Freitag, 10.11. bis Samstag, 11.11.2017 in der Universität Duisburg-Essen, Campus Essen (Gebäude S 06) statt. Wie läuft der Hackathon ab? Bei einem Hackathon werden verschiedene Phasen durchlaufen: 1. Aufgaben definieren Das vorgegebene Themenfeld umfasst die Digitalisierung bzw. die digitale Transformation in Handelsunternehmen. 2. Teams bilden Interdisziplinäre Teams werden gebildet, um die Fragestellung zielführend zu bearbeiten. 3. Idee ausarbeiten Unter methodischer Anleitung der CGI- Mentoren werden Ideen entwickelt und anschließend praxisnahe Lösungs-konzepte erstellt. 4. Ergebnisse vorstellen Ideen und Lösungs-konzepte werden vor einer Jury vorgestellt. 5. Entwicklung fortsetzen Die drei besten Ideen werden mit hochwertigen Preisen belohnt. Nach dem Event können die Ideen in ein reales Projekt überführt werden. FAQs Sind die CGI Hackathon-Days nur was für „Techies“? Ein ganz klares Nein! Denn bei unseren Hackathon Start-Up Days geht es um die Entwicklung und Konzeption eines innovativen Geschäftsmodells in Handelsunternehmen. Wer kann teilnehmen? Alle Studierenden und Absolventen aus der Universität Duisburg-Essen, egal ob Wirtschaftsinformatik, BWL, VWL, Informatik, Jura, Biologie, etc. Was muss ich mitbringen? Dein Laptop – mehr nicht. Wie sieht es mit Verpflegung aus? Für Getränke und Speisen ist gesorgt. Diese werden von der CGI zur Verfügung gestellt. Ich habe eine Idee, kann ich diese vorstellen? Ja. Ideen, die zum Thema passen, können in einer frühen Phase des Hackathons eingebracht werden. Ich mag Start-up und Inkubator-Projekte. Sind die Hackathon Start-Up Day dann das Richtige für mich? Kurz und knapp: Ja! Warum sollte ich unbedingt dabei sein? Es macht Spaß in einem Team Visionen für die Zukunft zu entwickeln und dabei Tipps + Unterstützung von erfahrenen Beratern zu erhalten sowie die Chance auf hochwertige Preise zu haben. Wie teuer ist die Teilnahme am Hackathon? Die Teilnahme am Hackathon ist kostenlos. Gibt es eine Teilnehmerbeschränkung? Ja, an dem Hackathon können bis zu 40 Personen teilnehmen. Die Projektteams bestehen somit aus drei bis fünf Personen. Ich möchte gerne mit meinen Kommilitonen in einem Projektteam arbeiten. Ist das möglich? Das ist möglich wenn sie auch aus der Universität Duisburg-Essen sind. Bitte gib die Namen deiner Freunde im Bewerbungsprozess an.

Social Media: What makes citizens in Borne council tick?   In the Virtual world of the internet, Councils want to know how they can serve their citizens by knowing what their thoughts are. What makes them “tick” in social media (Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.) . And are there new insights available due to innovative combinations of datasets? Are you the one who can help Borne Council to see what the current affairs are?  Can you tell whether the messages in social media are based on facts or fiction? Can you identify the biggest influencers in Borne Community? Are we able to capture the the thoughts and feelings of the people who usually are not vocal? Those are some of the challenges that you are being asked to solve during the Borne Innovation Hackathon. Besides the datasets that you will get during the Hackathon, we are also challenging you to bring your own social media sources, or explain how you are able to access them. We are looking forward to your solutions!! Social Media: Wat leeft er bij de burgers in de gemeente Borne  In de virtuele wereld van het internet, willen gemeenten graag weten wat er bij de burgers in Borne leeft. Wat zeggen Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, etc) En wat kan een (nieuwe) bundeling van sets van andere data ons leren? Ben jij degene die kan achterhalen wat echt leeft binnen de Gemeente Borne? Kun jij vaststellen of berichten in Social Media gebaseerd zijn op feiten of fictie? Kun jij degene of het platform identificeren die de meeste invloed heeft in social media? Is het mogelijk om meningen of behoeften  van mensen op te vangen die we gewoonlijk niet te horen krijgen? Dit zijn een aantal uitdagingen waarmee we aan de slag willen tijdens de Innovatie Hack Borne. Naast de datasets die je van ons krijgt, dagen we je ook uit om eigen social datasets mee te nemen of aan te geven hoe je de social media uit het internet kan oogsten.
