FIWARE promotes a global and open-source platform that standardizes the gathering, access and management of context information generated by IoT devices to boost the development of smarter & scalable solutions in multiple verticals.  FIWARE provides not only the technology to develop smart solutions. It also empowers innovation through different initiatives. These initiatives help to create a community of people with different capabilities, but a common purpose. The 2nd FIWARE Summit will gather current members of the FIWARE Open Source Community, FIWARE Foundation Members (organisations & individuals), FIWARE WW Ecosystem, Policy makers on European and member-state level, decision makers and users from industry, IoT device manufacturers, Solution providers (SMEs), Cities, Developers, High level representatives from cities and regions to gain/share first-hand insights on the FIWARE ecosystem. Draft Agenda: The event will be organized in several tracks that will run in parallel during the three days: • FIWARE Community working groups, where members of the open community will meet to coordinate different lines of work within the ecosystem, focusing on the activities of: · The FIWARE Technical Steering Committee · The FIWARE Ecosystem Support Committees: FIWARE Mundus, FIWARE Accelerator and FIWARE iHub • Developer's Primer, targeting at developers from inside and outside of the FIWARE Community: During the full first day, with additional sessions on the second and third days, it will comprise specialized technical sessions and hands-on experience for developers, working with and interested on the FIWARE technology. • Parallel Tracks related to Agrifood, Industry and Smart Cities to unfold and share a more accurate vision around the benefits of using FIWARE to create and develop a business project for each one of these verticals. • A Conference track, targeted to business developers, decision and policy makers, startup/SME CEOs, cities’ representatives, researchers, public authorities, non-profit organizations and to the whole FIWARE Community. Joint Workshop with TM Forum The API economy is an enabler for turning a business or organization into a platform. ‘Frontrunner Smart Cities in the API economy’ sessions will help to Identify challenges for urban communities and discover the level of maturity of each city, studying the roadmap and challenges ahead, focusing on real-time open data and economy of data. It will provide a path to start FIWARE and TM Forum pilots, being the leading adopters of the a reference architecture based on open standards. Hackacity at the FIWARE Summit Utrecht: hack your way to success! Hackacity is a competition which aims at testing and using cities’ Open Data on a non-stop hackathon. In our 2nd Summit, the participants will be encouraged to create applications, aiming to ease real citizens’ challenges. Admission is open to coders, hackers, designers, business developers and anyone willing to apply their skills on creating a winning solution. This is an opportunity to connect Big Data, smart brains and creativity, meeting new people, having a nice time solving problems together, building big, smart and creative solutions!       The EHL Hackathon Sports & Vitality is a gathering of creative spirits, technical minds and passionate athletes that develop new ideas and innovations on Sports, Vitality and Active Lifestyles during the Euro Hockey League on April 14-17.  During this EHL Hackathon, several cases about Sports & Vitality are presented by clients. Everyone can choose any project they like and form a group at the event. If you’re already working on a great idea that relates to the topic, then you can develop that further as well! We’ll provide you with prototyping gear such as 3D Printers, arduino’s, soldering stations and tools as well datasets and IoT-components. Next to this, you’ll be treated with breakfast, lunch and dinner at the EHL Hackathon location, which is next to the main field of HC Oranje-Rood. Over the course of the weekend, the group creates an awesome concept and builds a prototype that demonstrates how it works. A final presentation with a demo then concludes the event on Monday after which the judges will decide who wins the EHL Hackathon. The first prize is a ticket to join the 8-day summerschool in July at Tsukuba University in Japan!
