Vencon will hold its first annual blockchain forum in Lagos, Nigeria, the critical hub of blockchain and cryptocurrency in Africa. Amidst high interest in the field, Vencon 2018 will gather the brightest entrepreneurs, thought leaders, investors, developers, academic and policy groups, and blockchain enthusiasts from Africa and around the world. Vencon consists of a three-day program, with keynote presentations and panel discussions about major topics surrounding the industry. Contestants will be showcasing their solutions to the judges, tech community and the general public. This workshop, designed for the beginner programmer, will assume no previous coding knowledge. We'll go over key coding terminology and principles, introduce languages like HTML and CSS—what their functions are, how they work together—and use that new knowledge to write our own code and develop our own simple site. NaijaHacks kicks off online from October 18-23, 2018 and wraps up with a Demo day Oct 24 and Award ceremony on October 25, 2018, in Lagos, Nigeria.     Lots of amazing prizes to be won, plus a full day of networking, learning, great food and lots of fun with our international team of Mentors, Speakers, and Judges from the US, UK, Canada, and Nigeria.

Google Developer Group (GDG) Cloud Lagos is a non-profit community of cloud developers.We strive to have three main events every month:1) WorkshopAt our hands-on workshop, you should bring your laptop. At the beginning, there is a tutorial on different aspects of building an app. Subsequently, you can implement what you just learned on your laptop and ask the organising team any questions if you run into problems.2) PresentationWe invite speakers to present on cutting edge tech research that affects developers. The topics revolve around artificial intelligence, big data, server operations, and internet of things.3) HackathonWe have a one day hackathon on Saturdays where you can delve more deeply into building projects. Nigerian computer science, business, and entrepreneurial students and faculty in Nigeria! The Nigerian Blockchain Alliance (NBA) invites you to participate in the Campus Blockchain Hackathon to be held at Covenant University's Hebron Startup Lab. Any student or faculty member with an interest in blockchain technology, a business idea, and the aptitude to be part of a blockchain startup project team can take part. Come and collaborate and compete against teams in other locations in Nigeria for the chance to be eligible for the National Campus Blockchain Hackathon.
