TADHack Johannesburg runs on the 13th and 14th October 2018, in parallel with 20+ other locations around the world. TADHack is a hackathon that helps people learn about the latest Internet, IT, and Telecoms technologies; and use those technologies to solve problems that are important to you.  TADHack is for Everyone!, what matters is that you are interested in technology and how it can solve problems that are important to you, and perhaps even change the world,   Our hacks have included programmable telecoms (voice, video, messaging), internet of things, cloud computing, robotics, machine learning, speech and face recognition, mobile payments, enterprise communications, decentralized web, blockchain, encryption, open source, and many other technologies. Current total cash prize pot is $45k (+lots of goodies). WHAT IS IT? TUT SOSHANGUVE Campus' first Annual Agile Hackathon organized by students community and academic staff in collaboration with the agile community in the industry.   WHY ARE WE DOING IT? To close the agile system devlopment knowledge gap between the industry and university students.                    The KASI CREATE-A-THON will use a hackathon format, underpinned by Agile practices, to deliver fresh ideas  and solutions to the surrounding community. Objectives To create a knowledege sharing plartform for the latest agile and software development trends To nurture a playground away from work routine to grow the agile community in SA,through training and mentorship To disrupt the university September/October recess with a fun, focused learning platform   HOW DOES IT WORK? Students will register cress-functional teams, of four to seven team members. The number of teams is limited to 10.The KASI CREATE-A-THON will kick start with aday of workshops hosted by local and international Agile volunteers. Thereafter the students will start to work on their ideas! An industry mentor will collaborate with each team to guide the devlopment for 2 days. On Saturday afternoon, each team will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas.

RE-IMAGINE A Fintech Future  Calling problem solvers, innovators and entrepreneurs. Grindrod Bank Limited is hosting the RE-IMAGINE Hackathon on 28th-30th September 2018. This is a 36-hour event that will run from Friday 10:00am to Sunday 15:00pm, including judging and prize giving. The Challenge Within the guidelines of the theme; RE-IMAGINE A FinTech Future, you are encouraged to challenge yourselves to innovate without limits and push boundaries; to create something that brings positive change to solving real problem. Team entries of between 3 and 5 team members of any age, gender and skill level are invited. The Basha Bacha Creative Conference and Workshops take place over two days 28 & 29 June 2018. DAY 1 28 JUNE 2018 BAYEZA: THE CONFERENCE Bayeza: The Conference is an inspirational conference that will showcase and explore the different ways that creatives in the city have made it. Attendees will get to hear from musicians, artists, filmmakers, designers and cultural stalwarts on how they have gotten to where they are, the challenges they've faced in their various careers and how they have overcome them to be where they are now. The talks and panels will explore collaboration, side-projects, failure, business and marketing and more.  DAY 2 - 29 JUNE 2018 THERE ARE TWO EVENTS TAKING PLACE SIMULTANEOUSLY. DELEGATES MUST CHOOSE ONE IF THEY WISH TO ATTEND DAY 2  NANDO'S CREATIVE COLLISIONS  The NANDO’S CREATIVE COLLISIONS SESSIONS will be hosted by Clout guest editor Malibongwe Tylo who will share the Nando’s designer-makers programme with the audience. Three young Nando’s designers will be sharing their experiences and conducting hands-on workshops with participants.  ICT  BOOTCAMP FOR CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS  The objective of the Bootcamp is to provide a platform for A-Level influencers within the South African ICT industry, youth ICT innovators, young professionals and youth-owned SMMEs to explore through discussions and mini-hackathon on strategic ways to grow their brands through digital platforms to compete both locally and globally while coming up with tech solutions. The participating creatives will benefit from the various highly relevant, multi-focused discussions, Q&A sessions, mini hackathons and opportunities to network with thought leaders within the ICT industry.

Youth in Blockchain Summit a blockchain event that seeks to bring together young people around the Johannesburg/Gauteng area to learn about blockchain, share ideas on how this technology could be leveraged for continental development, listen to industry experts and most importantly to convert blockchain knowledge received into practice through a blockchain idea hackathon during the event. The event will be split into three sessions: session one, blockchain experts get to share knowledge about blockchain through talks and a panel discussion; session two, an interactive think tank session where participant get introduced to blockchain and get a chance to ideate blockchain solutions; session three, the hackathon, best ideas developed during the think tank compete and get as  awarded. African Blockchain Initiative members will interact consistently with the crowd makinbg sure everyone goes home versed with blockchain knowledge and passionate about blockchain innovation. Participants interested in African Leadership Academy will also get a chance to tour the campus and see how they could be part of future African development.

Rehive Fintech Hackathon This 24 hour pop up event forms part of a series of hackathons leading up to the final Rehive Fintech Challenge.
