Baltathon. Hackathons for Baltic Museums.
11 Sep - 10:00 AM
Malmö, Sweden
Baltathon is a series of free hackathons taking place within the BatlicMuseums: Love IT!.
Museums, touristic attractions, IT specialists and research institutions from Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, ad Germany, cooperate in the project BalticMuseums: Love IT! in creating IT-enabled tools for natural and cultural heritage attractions in the South Baltic Region. The overall goal of the project is to create services for IT-supported tourism, and its basis is an exchange of the experiences between partners, visitors and users.
As Baltathon participants you are tasked with creating an information tool – an application based on the gamification, which will contribute to the greater interest and involvement of tourists visiting cultural institutions in the Baltic States.
Let’s #hack4balticmuseums!
We invite students, programmers, designers, graphic designers, Internet experts and all the new technology freaks to take part in the competition! We provide full catering and attractive prizes for the best teams.

Everything will start from the warm-up. During this meeting (which will be organized twice, on 11th and 18th Sep) you have the chance to get familiar with the exhibitions, problems and challenges the Museum of Malmo faces, and to get to know each other better. It’s also time for you to look for partners in crime (in case you don’t have a team yet).
