Calling all digital and technology specialists, entrepreneurs and SMEs with an interest in the power of data to support innovation. This event introduces you to the work of Digital Catapult and how it can help organisations in unlocking value and innovating using data through a focus on blockchain and the IoT. You'll learn about blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) and how can they work together!

Do you have a passion for making a difference to the care provided in schemes and homes around the country? Do you like to problem solve and find innovative solutions to everyday issues in the provision of healthcare in care homes, keeping the more vulnerable members of our society safe, well and avoiding admissions into secondary care? Come participate in the “Collaborate to Improve Care - Hackathon.” You will meet and collaborate with a diverse mix of people--from healthcare and academia--healthcare scientists, clinicians, care professionals, elderly care physicians, and public health professionals, information management professionals, engineers, computer scientists, and bio-medical specialists. Challenges will be pitched by participants and teams will be formed to find a solution to these challenges. The teams then pitch their solutions to a panel of judges, and they will mark the solutions on their viability.

This 48-hour hackathon will provide developers, architects, analysts, entrepreneurs and technologists with the challenge to solve business problems of the future by using the Internet of Things. In the age of digital transformation for smart production and smart products, new customer requests and technologies have to be picked up and fulfilled fast. Developing on the Sage X3 platform and using the Sage X3 APIs, teams will create smart, connected business solutions, applications and processes of the future. Win prizes, establish new connections, gain exposure, and learn how to develop on the IoT-ready Sage X3 platform through Workshops and Webinars. The categories include: Smart Manufacturing, Connected Products and After Sales Service, Connected Supply Chain, and Producing real-time applications.

Developers and technologists! Barclays Command Centre is looking to work with those who can build game changing solutions to help shape the future of financial services. They have identified their top four interesting topic areas and want to work with you to help them develop what customers need. This is a two day ‘hackathon’ based at Launch22. You can choose one of four given project briefs -- on your own teams, as an individual, or in collaboration with other participants. The projects are: --> Brief 1 - Callout Tool, --> Brief 2 - Application Dashboard Monitor --> Brief 3 - Virtual Command Centre – wallboard remote monitoring and severity matrix --> Brief 4 - Comanji -- Advertisement and use of the Command Centre – Return on Investment.

This is a Hackathon with main aim to provide a tangible solution to assist the challenge of patient flow. Patient flow is a complex and difficult challenge for all organisations. Colleagues from different departments from across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will explore together the patient journeys. Real data and patient journeys will be used to develop a shared understanding of patient flow throughout the Hospital, in order to collaboratively identify where the focus should be put on to make improvements. The BBC is giving a micro:bit computer to every Year 7 student. This is a unique event for all Y7 Computing teachers interested in using these devices in their lessons. it is an opportunity to work together, to share resources and to investigate the micro:bit's potential. The aim of the day is to boost teacher's confidence in using the micro:bit in their lessons and promoting it's use in other STEM subjects.

With over 20million refugees worldwide fighting for their lives it’s clear that the current crisis is one of the most urgent issues of our time. Therefor, What Design Can Do (WDCD), the UN Refugee Agency and the IKEA Foundation have grouped together to create ‘The What Design Can Do Refugee Challenge’, A global design competition that calls on the creative community to come up with game-changing ideas for accommodating, connecting and integrating refugees. The Liverpool Collective invite designers, creative thinkers and imaginative trouble-shooters to join this day of collaboration to show the world what can be created with a bit of ‘Scouse Nous’. Come and meet Some ‘Proper Boss Lads’, grab a coffee and Spend the day networking with some of the city’s best. The winning idea from the hackathon will be entered into the official competition, the five best entries of which will receive up to 10,000 euros and more importantly help to turn their idea into a reality.

Patient Flow Hack: Bradford & Airedale  What is a hack?  A ‘hack’ is based on the traditional concept of a ‘Hackathon’, whereby we bring people together and use their combined knowledge, wisdom and expertise to find new solutions to old problems over an intensive period of time. What is the problem?  The Patient Flow Hack is designed to provide a tangible solution to assist the challenge of patient flow. Patient flow is a complex and difficult challenge for all organisations. Colleagues from different departments across Bradford and Airedale health and social care system will explore together the patient journeys. Real data and patient journeys will be used to develop a shared understanding of patient flow throughout the hospital, which means that we can collaboratively identify where we should focus our efforts to make improvements. Question we will address - How can we optimise the patient journey through the health care system to improve patient flow? After the event, projects will be developed with the following aims; • Identity solutions to improve acute care • Address methods to help us work towards more timely and effective discharge What to expect?  Local data from the last year will be used to model real patient journeys through the hospital from admission to discharge. The event will start with a physical simulation using this data to develop a shared understanding of the challenges and bottlenecks relating to patient flow. Real patient journeys will be used and will model a typical good day and a typical bad day within the Bradford and Airedale health system. The event brings together colleagues, academics, senior managers and front line staff to understand challenges across the system in relation to patient flow. This event will create a sense of energy and excitement to tackle a really difficult challenge. This is the second Sheffield Refugee Hackathon taking place at Yoomee's offices at the Electric Works. Come along to get to know the people who came last time, if you did't already and catch up on the projects created then. If there are more people, participants will be forming teams to look at some new ideas. So Bring your laptop and join this event to hack for refugees!

This is a fab meetup event with as guest speaker Filipe Barroso from Portugal and to challenge you on how fast you can create an app from start to publish. You will learn methods and libraries to reduce the development time and ways to prepare yourself for a hackathon or close deadline. Filipe started out by creating a mobile business application for Portugal Telecom, and now accepts new challenge working for clients such as Bayer, Brisa, and TAP.
