The hack is back! Come along to our two-day event and help us ‘hack’ solutions to some of the country’s biggest digital challenges.

Girls ages 11-to-18 in and around Manchester! If you're interested in coding or learning how to code, then Hack Manchester invites you to participate in their Youth Hack for Girls #3. At this fun, two-day team coding competition, you'll get to test and challenge your digital skills and creativity and compete to win awesome prizes. ManMetHacks is a student-run hackathon organised by helloHackers Soc, a hackathon society at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Restricted to Teesside University staff.  Daisy Best, Rachel  Morris and David Dixon will be talking about the Opening Doors for Care Leavers Hackathon which took place in November and sharing the ideas being taken forward as a result of the event. In the UK, we have almost 100,000 children in care at any one time; 40% of care leavers aged 19-22 are not in education, employment or training, and there is a much higher tendency for this group of people to commit crime, be homeless and self-harm. The aim of the Hackathon was to help address some of the challenges that young people face when they leave our care system. A diverse group of people – care leavers, foster carers, students business leaders and anyone working in a profession associated with care leavers worked together to consider solutions and help increase engagement in education, training and employment. Lunch is provided.
