Newport, United Kingdom
THIS IS AN ONS ONLY EVENT
PRESENTERS:
Sebnem Oguz, Devolution team;

SUMMARY:
At the start of November we attended a collaborative event between the Data Science Campus and Barclaycard with the aim of 'using payments data for public good'. Thirty-six hours, one multi-disciplinary team, lots of snacks, some unknown data, and a presentation later, we had the winning pitch. Our idea is now being taken forward as a joint project between the ONS and Barclaycard. The talk will explore what the hackathon was, how it worked, how we felt about it, and what the winning idea was.
