Students and Lawyers Against Poverty members in and around Oxford! Oxfam Lawyers Against Poverty invites you to save the date to participate in their Hackathon in Oxford. You'll be challenged to collaborate with like-minded individuals to come up with innovative ways in which you can improve access to justice for communities across the world.

High tech businesses, innovators, designers, data scientists, coders and business strategists! If you're interested in rail transportation, then you're invited to participate in the HS2 Hackathon. You'll be challenged to come up with an innovative new idea that will help deliver the High Speed 2 infrastructure project. Working on a team of up to five people, you'll collaborate to explore how technologies such as wearable technology, machine learning, and virtual reality might help key aspects of the HS2 project, including staff safety, customer experience, maintenance operations and community impact.

Local Hack Day is a 12 hour mini-hackathon that brings together the local hacker community to celebrate building awesome technology. Omnipresently, other students around the world will be hosting their own Local Hack Days, resulting in the largest single day of student hacking ever. Whether you're a seasoned hackathon veteran or have never been to a hackathon before, Local Hack Day is the best way to meet other techies and even get started on a cool project.If you want to learn to code or just want to find out what it's all about, drop by and say hello. About the Event  The TUI Bedfordshire Hackathon is an event exclusively for University of Bedfordshire students. So please dont register if you do not attend the University of Bedfordshire. This is the second annual TUI Bedfordshire Hackackaton, the event is open for all years belonging to the Computer Science department. This is a great opportunity for future graduates to get advice from Industry experts, meet our current IT Graduates, and develop your skills. Designers, developers, and AI enthusiasts in and around Milton Keynes! Festive Road -- the Milton Keynes based art foundation -- invites you to participate in the MK Hackathon 2017. You'll be challenged to design and prototype an innovative tool -- front or back-end -- that will help simplify the searching and classification of photos.

De Montfort University in Leicester, England, is holding a Text Hackathon from 12.30pm on Friday 10 November to 12.30pm on Sunday 12 November 2017, at its Eric Wood Learning Zone. Everyone who is interested in searching and analysing large bodies of digital text is welcome to come. All levels of ability and all ages are welcome and will be catered for, from those who know nothing about this topic to those who study it and those who teach it and research it. Free high-quality food--with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and coeliac options--will be served throughout the event. HackNotts is a 24 hour Hackathon hosted at the University of Nottingham. In October this year we will be returning for our fourth year! Join us for a weekend of hacking and fun in the stunning Jubilee Campus. But what is going to happen at the event? Over the 24 hours, people aged 16+ of all skill levels (you don't have to be a professional or a student! Just be lovely, passionate and interested in tech!) will come together to share ideas, and create new and awesome projects! (Not sure what a hackathon is? MLH have a great explanation here). There'll also be fun minigames, challenges and free food/drink to make sure you have an absolutely wonderful time. What should I bring? Apart from yourself, you will also need to bring laptops, chargers and some spare clothes if you want to sleep. Please note that all attendees will be subject to the MLH Code of Conduct. There'll also be fun minigames, challenges and free food/drink to make sure you have an absolutely wonderful time. But I don't have any experience - I won't be any good!    Nonsense - Everyone has to start somewhere, and we will have mentors at the event to help you along. One of the most awesome qualities of hackathons is the sheer number of lovely people that you'll meet at them, so no matter your skill level or expertise, you'll always be able to have an awesome time, pick up loads of new skills, and make new friends!
