Homelessness To Help: Hack Join 100 people ready to hack homelessness across a weekend. Friday: 17.30 - 21.00 Saturday: 9.30 - 17.00 Sunday: 10.00 - 16.00 ------------------------- Ben Hammersley, the San Fransisco based Editor-at-Large for Wired magazine contacted the organisers Gallus Events to offer his support, “What a great idea. Homelessness and rough sleeping are some of society's biggest failings and without a doubt tech companies have a big role to play in alleviating these ills.” The Homeless Hackathon Edinburgh will bring together: - Scottish tech and start up community - Charities and other organisations dedicated to end homelessness in Edinburgh and across Scotland - Policy makers and think and do tanks - Local and national politicians  - Political and community activists - Anyone with ideas, time, skills and resources to dedicate, to supporting charties and other organisations, or to creating thier own solutions - Those with lived experience of being homeless FOR FULL DETAILS OF THE EDINBURGH HACKATHON including supporting organisations. Have you ever wanted to get involved in a data hackathon? First timer? Don’t know how to get involved? Not sure where your skills fit in? The hackathon at OGV Innovate will bring together wind generation data, as well as oil and gas data provided by industry sponsors – not just past performance files, but real live data shared in a way that will allow attendees to take on the challenges faced by industry. Supported by OGTC, Starling HQ, Intelligent Plant and OGV, this event will give attendees the unique opportunity to not only meet the business owners who are setting the challenges, but also to work on real, live data. This is your opportunity to work with new people as you explore: • Data in different domains • Innovative ways of working and different platforms • New experiences and different roles while expanding your network This is a fantastic opportunity for participants to further develop coding skills and gain understanding of real industry challenges. The event is the second in a series of planned hackathon events in Aberdeen and is aligned with the OGTC’s vision to foster innovation and enhance collaboration in the region. Starling HQ will facilitate the event with participants from industry, who are setting the challenges for the developers and data scientists. Representatives from BP, ORE Catapult and Intelligent Plant will be available to help with the context of the datasets, and the teams will be able to draw upon the expertise of domain experts when they need clarification on aspects of the challenge. Teams will be expected to report back on their progress three times during the day as a way of sharing ideas and gathering input from other teams. The day ends with a showcase of what was developed followed by a short review of what worked, and lessons learned. Please note, this event will give access to key datasets that are protected, as such attendees will be required to sign an NDA.                Your event pass will be created in advance and you are not require to register for OGV Transition - Digitalisation and Energy conference .
