We are looking for adults who have a STEM background to help the girls learn to code in HTML, Appshed and Appinventor tools and show them the range of possible careers you can do after studying STEM subjects.
All you need to do is provide inspiration and help the girls with their projects when they get stuck.

FAQs
Can I attend on only one day?
It is advisable to attend on both days, but we understand that not everyone is able to do that. The projects are deisgned to take two days: if you attend on the Saturday, unless you work with someone who is doing both days, you cannot win a prize. If you attend on Sunday, you are eligible to win a prize at 'demo day'.
Are my boys able to attend too?
Brothers and cousins can attend, but only if they bring a sister, female cousin or female identifying friend with them.

Do you want to be part of a new generation of young entrepreneurs? Are you aged 10-18? Then join us for an exciting 2-day entrepreneurial challenge at University of Edinburgh on 10 November 2018(10AM-6PM) & 11 November 2018 (10 AM - 6 PM)
This is an opportunity for young people to work collaboratively in small teams to identify and consider entrepreneurial solutions to current social and economic problems.
The programme draws on the latest research from the University of Edinburgh and is underpinned by MoneyMatix. MoneyMatix is an integrated financial education tool developed by an Edinburgh-based Social Enterprise that is designed to teach children and young people the value of money and entrepreneurship.
All teams will be supported by MoneyMatix tools and volunteer mentors from the financial, business and charity community.
Refreshments and food will be provided for participants throughout the event. Parents and stakeholders will be invited to the presentations & judging and an awards reception at the end of day 2.

The half-day workshops (16th & 17th October) will provide “hands-on” opportunities to try out the MAZI DIY networking toolkit, based around the Raspberry Pi. The workshops will be divided into two groups:
Workshop 1 will be for programmers and technical enthusiasts who are interested in finding out more about it all works, and perhaps getting involved in supporting the on-going development of the open-source project.
Workshop 2 is for technical novices with an interest in how the technologies can be used in domains such as; education, art & creativity, and civic & community participation.

The half-day workshops (16th & 17th October) will provide “hands-on” opportunities to try out the MAZI DIY networking toolkit, based around the Raspberry Pi. The workshops will be divided into two groups:
Workshop 1 will be for programmers and technical enthusiasts who are interested in finding out more about it all works, and perhaps getting involved in supporting the on-going development of the open-source project.
Workshop 2 is for technical novices with an interest in how the technologies can be used in domains such as; education, art & creativity, and civic & community participation.

Do-It-Yourself Technologies for Action and Empowerment: Stories, practice and perspectives
For people with interested in building local networks for education, art & creativity, civic & community participation, and more.
You can attend either or both sessions - Tuesday 16th Oct and Wednesday 17th. Repeat the booking process to attend both.
This is an introductory workshop, and no technical knowledge is needed. The focus of this workshop is about exploring how “simple” WiFi connection technologies, such as the MAZI Toolkit, can be used with groups and communities to support social activities and share knowledge. All technology will be provided, but it would be useful to bring a laptop, tablet or smartphone.
