Red Bull Basement Hatches provide a glimpse into the world of Red Bull Basement and the world of possibilities that technology offers to create social impact and solutions. The Red Bull Basement Hatch is an inspirational space where social innovators, creatives and enthusiasts of the future come together to exchange ideas on how to change the world for good through technology.  Whilst technology has a transformative impact on the lives of many, for the 13.9 million disabled people in the UK, technology truly can be magical.  Whilst mainstream technology is constantly stepping up its game for disabled people, specialist products (also known as assistive technology) have also grown their user base.  Some estimates predict that the global assistive technology market will be worth $26bn by 2024.    This Hatch event will explore and analyse technology of the past, present and future that has changed countless lives for the better though an evening of conversations and panels. If you’re a maker, coder, designer, hacker, architect, engineer or any kind of creative using your skills to solve social and environmental issues then come along and enjoy inspiring conversations and networking opportunities with leading experts and change makers. Please note: this event is for over 18s only. Under 18s will be refused entry on the night without a refund for the cost of the tickets. Aejaz Zahid – Hacksessible | Co-founder of Hacksessible, a unique assistive technology make-a-thon designed to empower individuals who have a disability to collaborate with engineers, computer scientists and others to develop innovative solutions for accessibility challenges they face. Krissie Barrick - Scope org. | Organiser of Scope’s Big Hack, a programme which seeks to make the digital world more inclusive through running large-scale hackathons and sharing knowledge around accessibility, inclusive design and inclusive workplaces. Vivek Gohil – Playstation and Microsoft gaming advisor | Accessibility consultant who works with game developers to audit accessibility to ultimately improve inclusion to make gaming accessible for everyone.   £3.00 Per ticket includes access to the talks/panels, food upon arrival, Red Bull Basement merchandise  

Please join us for the Skoll Invest Fest! A fast paced, collaborative, hackathon event on Sunday 3rd November and Saturday 9th November. These are two separate events; you can attend a single event or both. Please sign up to each Eventbrite separately. The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship has partnered with Chivas Venture for the last 5 years to make the Chivas Venture one of the most prominent social entrepreneurship competitions globally, with finalists impacting over 2 million lives in over 50 countries. This year we have expanded this programme to include Oxford MBA students who are looking to develop skills and experience in impact investing and due diligence. Form part of a select team of MBA students and alumni that will participate in a hackathon event, analysing current social businesses from 25 countries. During each day you will work in pairs and groups to analyse between 10 – 15 social businesses each. You will gain valuable first-hand experience and delve into the nuances of social business due diligence. Finalists from each country will present at the Chivas global final event in June 2020. Come along if you want to: -       have a hands-on experience and analyse current social businesses. -       learn more about the early stage due diligence process and how social business competitions feed into the impact investment ecosystem. -       understand impact investment due diligence from the ‘investors perspective’. -       help choose who gets the opportunity to pitch for up to $1m of funding. Who is this for? This event is an experiential learning opportunity for Saïd Business School, MBA 19 – 20 candidates, attendees of the Impact Investment Bootcamp and MBA alumni only. Microsoft Graph Hackathon

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based charity that works to put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of people all over the world. Hundreds of thousands of young people regularly use our free, detailed, and engaging educational resources to learn computing and digital making skills. To reach even more young people, especially in communities that may not yet have access to high-quality computing education, we need to translate these resources into a wide variety of languages. To celebrate International Translation Day on 30 September, we are organising a translation hackathon at our headquarters in Cambridge, where we hope to bring together the wonderful people of Cambridge to help us translate as many of our educational resources as possible. Please join us if you speak fluent English and another language, and have some basic knowledge of Python, HTML, and/or Scratch. You don’t need any translation experience — our translation team will provide you with help and support. Together, we can break down the language barriers in computing education.
