Manchester Youth Hack #3 is here! Come and code with your friends — or learn to code and make friends. Digital companies will set challenges and offer prizes for the best hack. This doesn't just mean the best code — it's about working well as a team, being willing to learn, daring to fail! This is a fun event where the aim is to work together, learn and produce something cool. If you've not done a hack before, no matter — there'll be friendly mentors on hand to help you out. Just bring a laptop and some enthusiasm and be ready to work with other people.

Calling all digital and technology specialists, entrepreneurs and SMEs with an interest in the power of data to support innovation. This event introduces you to the work of Digital Catapult and how it can help organisations in unlocking value and innovating using data through a focus on blockchain and the IoT. You'll learn about blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) and how can they work together!

This 48-hour hackathon will provide developers, architects, analysts, entrepreneurs and technologists with the challenge to solve business problems of the future by using the Internet of Things. In the age of digital transformation for smart production and smart products, new customer requests and technologies have to be picked up and fulfilled fast. Developing on the Sage X3 platform and using the Sage X3 APIs, teams will create smart, connected business solutions, applications and processes of the future. Win prizes, establish new connections, gain exposure, and learn how to develop on the IoT-ready Sage X3 platform through Workshops and Webinars. The categories include: Smart Manufacturing, Connected Products and After Sales Service, Connected Supply Chain, and Producing real-time applications.

This is a Hackathon with main aim to provide a tangible solution to assist the challenge of patient flow. Patient flow is a complex and difficult challenge for all organisations. Colleagues from different departments from across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will explore together the patient journeys. Real data and patient journeys will be used to develop a shared understanding of patient flow throughout the Hospital, in order to collaboratively identify where the focus should be put on to make improvements. Join this event to optimise the patient journey through the health care system by improve the patient flow.

The ART//GAMES//HACKATHON is an intensive workshop welcoming all artists, coders and technologists to team up, collaborate and develop prototypes for game art projects.  This hackathon is part of Europeana Space, a large EU-funded project, which examines the creative reuse of online content across a range of media and art forms. The three winning projects will receive further mentoring from Simon Cronshaw from Remix and the chance to participate in a Business Modelling Workshop to further shape their projects and develop business plans. These three finalists will then compete for three months of tailored business incubation from world-class industry leaders.

This is the second Sheffield Refugee Hackathon taking place at Yoomee's offices at the Electric Works. Come along to get to know the people who came last time, if you did't already and catch up on the projects created then. If there are more people, participants will be forming teams to look at some new ideas. So Bring your laptop and join this event to hack for refugees!

This is a fab meetup event with as guest speaker Filipe Barroso from Portugal and to challenge you on how fast you can create an app from start to publish. You will learn methods and libraries to reduce the development time and ways to prepare yourself for a hackathon or close deadline. Filipe started out by creating a mobile business application for Portugal Telecom, and now accepts new challenge working for clients such as Bayer, Brisa, and TAP.

Join us for the IP Magnet Challenge. You're invited to the Google Digital Garage in Manchester Central Library for an ideas development and IP data hackathon day. You'll be creating a prototype idea for a contract to develop your concept into a working application! Come and share your ideas or maybe start a new collaboration. Work as individuals or form a team. Bring a laptop; beginners are always welcome. Plus, you'll be competing for a contract to develop your concept into a working prototype! On the day you’ll be able to analyse newly released IP data, including trademark and patent data. If you are a developer, a designer, an ideas generator, a startup, an IP expert, an individual, complete beginner or simply have an interest patents and trademarks, you are welcome to join us at the IP Magnet Challenge. Why are we doing this? It’s part of an effort to make intellectual property data more useful and accessible for small businesses, entrepreneurs and interested individuals.  The library will provide data sets, including newly released trademark and patent data from the UK Intellectual Property Office. Participants can choose the data they are most interested in to create their project. BCUHack is a 24 hour Hackathon, which is free for students at Birmingham City University. A Hackathon is an event in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming. Programmers and web developers of all experience levels are welcome to participate and you do not need to be an expert. This is a brilliant opportunity for you to develop new software, learn about new technologies, acquire new skills and meet new people. The Hackathon will involve you working in a team to develop software within the time frame. There will be challanges set by the event sponsors and you can create software on any platform, using the tools provided by our sponsors.
