Workshop on Google Cloud. We will have an introductory lecture on Google cloud, followed by a workshop in Qwiklabs. Please remember to bring your laptop, charger, and snacks. The event will take place in the Portland Building P1.04. You will not have to stay for the full duration, but I have the room booked until 5pm, so you are free to continue to work on the self-directed labs or any other work you may have. What are Developer Student Clubs (DSC)? Developer Student Clubs (DSC) are university-based community groups run by Google Developers for students with an interest in growing as developers. By joining a DSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their community. Program Outline The DSC will organize and facilitate workshops/hackathons/study jams in our university to provide students with technical development skills. Interested students get an opportunity to apply their skills for a real-life problem sourced from the local community. In addition, students gain problem-solving skills as they understand and develop a solution using technology. Who can join DSC? Events that will be held by the DSC are open to all interested students from undergraduate and graduate programs. Members of the local public are welcome too.     I'm excited to announce a Google Developer Student Club is launching at De Montfort university What are Developer Student Clubs (DSC)?             Red Bull Basement Hatches provide a glimpse into the world of Red Bull Basement and the world of possibilities that technology offers to create social impact and solutions. The Red Bull Basement Hatch is an inspirational space where social innovators, creatives and enthusiasts of the future come together to exchange ideas on how to change the world for good through technology.  Whilst technology has a transformative impact on the lives of many, for the 13.9 million disabled people in the UK, technology truly can be magical.  Whilst mainstream technology is constantly stepping up its game for disabled people, specialist products (also known as assistive technology) have also grown their user base.  Some estimates predict that the global assistive technology market will be worth $26bn by 2024.    This Hatch event will explore and analyse technology of the past, present and future that has changed countless lives for the better though an evening of conversations and panels. If you’re a maker, coder, designer, hacker, architect, engineer or any kind of creative using your skills to solve social and environmental issues then come along and enjoy inspiring conversations and networking opportunities with leading experts and change makers. Krissie Barrick - Scope org. | Organiser of Scope’s Big Hack, a programme which seeks to make the digital world more inclusive through running large-scale hackathons and sharing knowledge around accessibility, inclusive design and inclusive workplaces.
