Water quality is essential for good river health, the water resource in Thames catchment is of major environmental, social and economic value to South East region in England. It contributes to farming, fishing and mining as well as recreation and tourism. Knowing conditions of certain water quality indicators in advance will give water quality managers and other end users information to make better decision for their activities. The challenge is to use your coding skills to help deliver the best information to water quality experts, or make a forecast on water quality near the river you live. Building an app using big data technology to forecasts and visualize water quality.

    The Accessible Music Hackathon is featuring Bela, a new embedded platform for low-latency interactive audio. The goal of the hackathon will be to create new musical instruments accessible to disabled musicians. Hacks could produce complete working instruments, or a demonstration of a concept or sensor which could be used in a variety of instruments. There will be prizes for the best hacks addressing these challenges, and best overall instrument.

      Building Data Exchange Hack Weekend

      To launch our Building Data Exchange, this hack weekend aims to bring the built environment community together with digital innovators and entrepreneurs to unlock new data driven solutions for the management of building performance.  This hackathon is the perfect opportunity for built environment experts, entrepreneurs, technologists, developers and creative professionals to come together, share skills and build exciting new ideas.  You will be able to access and use the Building Data Exchange datasets and reports collected under the BPE programme.  This includes over 100 different projects, covering both domestic and non-domestic property with data relating to carbon neutrality and building efficiency through to ergonomics and design.  You will have 24 hours to develop, research and test your idea, before presenting to your fellow hackers and our panel of expert judges.
