Come and participate in Social Storm Hackathon 2016. Collaborate with your team of like-minded students to develop a business plan to help solve a social issues challenge and submit a video pitch to the team of judges. Aston University students and graduates! Are you passionate about finding innovative solutions to global issues? Come and participate in the Social Storm - 24 hour Virtual Hackathon. You'll collaborate with like-minded individuals to tackle two global issues; food security and sustainable housing. You'll work in a team with students from other universities to find a sustainable solution to a real life problem, and to present a video pitch to a team of judges.

The mobility service we’re aiming to build requires you to look at it from 3 different perspectives - technical, commercial, behavioural. All we’ll provide you with is a customer problem and the data to solve this accordingly. The challenge will involve building an app focusing on a mobility service in London, making it user-friendly and understanding how the money comes in. It’s about you shaping the proposition, rather than us telling you what to do! You'll get the opportunity to help solve real customer mobility problems, with an awesome app that is innovative, practical and commercially viable.

Come take part in BT Security’s hacking competition hosted at Surrey University. Try and hack websites, crack passwords, decode messages and break encryption. You will form into teams of between three and five people, and have three hours to try and complete as many hacking challenges as possible. Completing challenges earns you points and there will be prizes for the team with the most points at the end of the night! No prior hacking experience is required, you just need to be passionate about technology and up to the challenge. You are encouraged to use the internet during the event to help research solutions to the challenges.  No experience required.   Just bring your laptop. Want to learn and contribute to the use of new technologies, through deployed real-time sensor data and other live datasets? Sign up to participate in the oneTRANSPORT Hackathon -- and help explore and create IoT solutions for transport that can be used by the wider community and benefit local authorities. The event allows for developers to draw data from the platform, as well as contribute back to the platform, enriching the existing services that are available through the platform. You'll have access to previously unavailable datasets including real time transport data from Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire from IoT enabled sensors deployed for the hackathon event.
