            London, United Kingdom
You’re invited to…Lab Liftoff: Robot Zoo We’ve teamed up with U Can Too for two days of experimentation with robotics. What can I expect at Lab Liftoff: Robot Zoo? Across the two days of this workshop, children will learn about and interact with robotics, using Birdbrain Technologies’ Hummingbird Kits. During the workshop children will design and build a Robot Zoo, creating moving robot animals that respond to interaction with. You an attend one day or two, depending on how complicated you want your project to be! Using craft materials, sensors, lights and servos children will learn about engineering, electronics, coding and physical prototyping whilst imagining a whacky world of robotic animals. This is a beginner friendly ‘hackathon’ fusing science, arts and technology. Working in groups, children will create their zoo. The goal of these animatronic animals is to delight others with unexpected animation, combining creativity, technology and humour! Attend on Monday AND Tuesday: be a Critter Inventor and sign up for both days. You will create a unique moving creature from your imagination. Day 1: learn to code Hummingbird and begin to build a zoo critter Day 2: develop and complete your imaginative new animal! Attend on Monday OR Tuesday: Sign up for 1 day, either Monday or Tuesday, and be a Critter Developer. Add a head and limbs to a setup body and develop a moving creature. If your child wants to spend two days inventing and creating an animal from scratch, add a Monday and a Tuesday ticket to your basket. If your child just wants to attend one day, to complete a shorter project – they can attend on either day and you just need a ticket for your chosen day, When is Lab Liftoff: Robot Zoo? This camp is taking place on both Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 August, from 9:30 until 4pm. Children can come either to one day or both days of this event. On Monday, children should be collected at 4pm and on Tuesday parents can return at 3:30pm for a showcase of the work created during the camp. This will finish at 4pm.
