Interested in healthcare in Sussex? You're a patient, a carer, a member of staff, a healthcare professional, charity worker or volunteer. The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust invites you to come and make a difference by contributing your creativity and skills at the "What Matters to You Hackathon". You'll be presented with up to 10 challenge areas and you'll collaborate to develop solutions that can be trialled and evaluated.

Engineering and computer science students in and around Southampton! Think you can create an Internet of things (IoT) device in less than a day? OK then! Sign up for the ARM Hackathon. You'll be provided with ARM mbed microcontrollers, sensors, and OS eco-system and challenged to build a working ARM powered device that addresses an IOT “Internet of things” market opportunity. Do you have ideas for an awesome, innovative IoT solution? Come and strut your stuff at the ARM Hackathon.

Interested in seeing real scientific ideas presented in new innovative ways? Want to see science teamwork at its best? Come to the env.infohackit evening presentations @Southampton. You'll see the project presentations made by teams of PhD environmental scientists, designers, developers and other creative types. They will present the results of their hackathon participation where they will compete to create the most exciting, informative and compelling infographics to communicate their research topics.

Come take part in BT Security’s hacking competition hosted at Surrey University. Try and hack websites, crack passwords, decode messages and break encryption. You will form into teams of between three and five people, and have three hours to try and complete as many hacking challenges as possible. Completing challenges earns you points and there will be prizes for the team with the most points at the end of the night! No prior hacking experience is required, you just need to be passionate about technology and up to the challenge. You are encouraged to use the internet during the event to help research solutions to the challenges.  No experience required.   Just bring your laptop. Participate at Impact Aloud 2016 -- Superhighways' third annual event to celebrate the power of digital to transform the way charities and community organisations can collect and measure data and share their incredible stories of change. Attend masterclasses that give you the latest tips and advice on apps, devices and online tools that don't cost the earth but can help you share your stories with the world.

Attention volunteers who love building crazy technology! If you're a developer, designer or data scientist, come help charities with their digital challenges at the Brighton Digital Festival! You'll be assigned a business case for a problem that a participating charity needs to solve: →re-designing their website or smartphone application, →building a proof of concept on using chat bots, augmented reality, and virtual reality or →helping them with data needs. The day will be focused on designing, developing, breaking the digital rulebook and helping move towards a more sustainable world through helping charities accelerate into the world of digital.

Come along to PubHack -- a 10-hour digital hackathon that takes place in a pub. Collaborate in teams of up to 4 strong and you'll have 10 hours to make something based on a theme -- that will be announced at 9am on the day!

Virtual Reality developers! Want to get your hands on the latest motion-tracked input controllers from Oculus? Participate in Oculus Touch 24hr VR Hackathon and get early access to the devices to understand their capabilities and learn how to develop with them! Collaborate in teams to create fun mini-games that make use of the capacitive, haptic motion-tracked controllers. You can be a coder, an artist, a designer or a bit of all three, you make sure your team has enough relevant skills to create a working build in Unity for evaluation.

Open source GIS users, developers, supporters--join OSGeo:UK at FOSS4G UK 2016 for two days of conferences and a one day hackathon - Humanitarian Hack with HXL. Sharpen your design and coding skills to explore ways to improve information sharing during humanitarian crises. Come up with innovative ways to leverage data discovery and spatial data usage, using HXL with QGIS and CKAN, to help people in need!

Come join in the Circular Towns - Circular Mapping Challenge at Reading Green Festival, which is part of London/ READING OSCEdays. The focus will be around sharing, learning, meeting new people and exploring new places through a circular lens. Participants will have a chance to explore the city and engage in mapping the local activities and related places – putting circular initiatives on the map (literally). The goal is to create an open map of the towns circular related activities and connections that will be of use and can be built upon further by local groups.
