THIS IS AN ONS ONLY EVENT PRESENTERS: Sebnem Oguz, Devolution team; Freyja Bibby, PPA Strategy and Engagement; Joseph Walton, Digital Service and Technology SUMMARY: At the start of November we attended a collaborative event between the Data Science Campus and Barclaycard with the aim of 'using payments data for public good'. Thirty-six hours, one multi-disciplinary team, lots of snacks, some unknown data, and a presentation later, we had the winning pitch. Our idea is now being taken forward as a joint project between the ONS and Barclaycard. Student techies around the UK! You're invited to explore new technology tools and testing your skills by designing, creating and testing your own new game — all in less than 48 hours.

Student inventors, designers, and coders! You're invited to participate in Royal Hackaway -- a 24-hour hackathon hosted at the Royal Holloway College of the University of London. You'll be challenged to collaborate with a team of like-minded individuals to design and build a working prototype solution to a given problem statement. Present your teams' project to a panel of judges for recognition and the chance to win an awesome prize.
