Do these type of demands fill you with dread because your usual recruitment strategies are simply not working? "Don't just sent me white males, I want more diverse candidates. I don't care how you do it, just get it done!" You understand why diversity is good for your business but you've simply not figured out how to actually recuit more diversely. I understand how you feel. As the HR team, it can feel like you are faced with an impossible task. You know, it's not a simple excercise finding diverse candidates. There are many moving parts to finding them and sometimes you are stuck in trying tofigure what actual steps you should be taking. But your boss doesn't want to hear that. Instead you are expected to make the magic happen. At any cost. I understand the challenge you face and I know that there are tips that we can share with you to help you get the results you want. This workshop is a collaborateive one where three speakers will be sharing their expertise on how to create a diverse recruitment strategy. Guest Speaker (1) Kirsty Styles - Head of Skills and Talent, Tech North Kirsty Styles has just finished working as a technology journalist, editor, podcaster and campaigner in East London. Having made ‘tech for good’ and other social and economic issues a focus of her work in tech, she recently headed back home to head up the talent and skills programme for Tech North. It’s her job to make people realise that the North has lots of great technology companies and thousands of great digital jobs - we just need people to do them!  Before this, she was a B2B tech editor at the New Statesman, and was previously a reporter at The Next Web and editor at Tech City News. Kirsty also created and presented the New Economics Foundation’s Weekly Economics Podcast, which was featured in The Observer and has received hundreds of thousands of listens.  She speaks about everything from the future of work to infrastructure, political utopias and the future of the media, and has done just that at events like Thinking Digital Women, FutureFest, Slush and the Battle of Ideas.
