Developers and technologists! Barclays Command Centre is looking to work with those who can build game changing solutions to help shape the future of financial services. They have identified their top four interesting topic areas and want to work with you to help them develop what customers need. This is a two day ‘hackathon’ based at Launch22. You can choose one of four given project briefs -- on your own teams, as an individual, or in collaboration with other participants. The projects are: --> Brief 1 - Callout Tool, --> Brief 2 - Application Dashboard Monitor --> Brief 3 - Virtual Command Centre – wallboard remote monitoring and severity matrix --> Brief 4 - Comanji -- Advertisement and use of the Command Centre – Return on Investment.
'Scouse Nous' - Refugee Hackathon

With over 20million refugees worldwide fighting for their lives it’s clear that the current crisis is one of the most urgent issues of our time. Therefor, What Design Can Do (WDCD), the UN Refugee Agency and the IKEA Foundation have grouped together to create ‘The What Design Can Do Refugee Challenge’, A global design competition that calls on the creative community to come up with game-changing ideas for accommodating, connecting and integrating refugees. The Liverpool Collective invite designers, creative thinkers and imaginative trouble-shooters to join this day of collaboration to show the world what can be created with a bit of ‘Scouse Nous’. Come and meet Some ‘Proper Boss Lads’, grab a coffee and Spend the day networking with some of the city’s best. The winning idea from the hackathon will be entered into the official competition, the five best entries of which will receive up to 10,000 euros and more importantly help to turn their idea into a reality.

    Join us for the IP Magnet Challenge. You're invited to the Google Digital Garage in Manchester Central Library for an ideas development and IP data hackathon day. You'll be creating a prototype idea for a contract to develop your concept into a working application! Come and share your ideas or maybe start a new collaboration. Work as individuals or form a team. Bring a laptop; beginners are always welcome. Plus, you'll be competing for a contract to develop your concept into a working prototype! On the day you’ll be able to analyse newly released IP data, including trademark and patent data. If you are a developer, a designer, an ideas generator, a startup, an IP expert, an individual, complete beginner or simply have an interest patents and trademarks, you are welcome to join us at the IP Magnet Challenge. Why are we doing this? It’s part of an effort to make intellectual property data more useful and accessible for small businesses, entrepreneurs and interested individuals.  The library will provide data sets, including newly released trademark and patent data from the UK Intellectual Property Office. Participants can choose the data they are most interested in to create their project.
