The first of the UK's ZenME events. Gathering busy professionals together to explore the Resilience Principles and well being skills and attributes. Based upon Egyptian adversity and rules of survival. This workshop will be the first step into self- coaching and a co- worker coaching environment. We are including a self- worth hackathon and we have a guest speaker that will be sharing how she turned trauma into something extraodinary.  This is an Introductory offer and will resume to full price in September. 

The Digital and Creative team are delighted to invite you to our ‘e-Buddy Hackathon’ | Saturday 7th July, 10am – 4pm As a part of your induction to Oldham College we would like to offer you the opportunity to attend an exclusive event supported by Barclays Bank and Microsoft’s Digital Accessibility Teams. “A hackathon is a design sprint-like event in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, and others, often including subject-matter-experts, collaborate intensively on software projects.” For this event, we aim to ‘Hack’ a student’s first week at College, to see how we can use technology and YOUR innovative thinking to improve and simplify the experience of studying at a new location! EMIS Health build software solutions to support patients, like you and me, live longer healthier lives.   Tech in healthcare is huge at the moment, there are so many new and interesting apps and tools that can support the vision of providing better patient experience when travelling their healthcare journey.   On the 23rd of June at 08:00AM we're kick starting “CodeLife” - our very own Hackathon, inviting people from across the North to join us for 14 hours of pure tech talk and on the spot innovation!  You will be in teams of 4 or 5 (bring your own team or we can team you up) and the day will run from 08:00 - 22:00 and will include Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for those taking part. It’s a points means prizes day with the topic of choice being "social media vs healthcare" - focusing on current and upcoming technologies. Use your knowledge of social media to prototype an app or tool that could benefit patients in healthcare.  As it’s a long day we will be providing free transport back to the centre of Manchester and then onto Leeds City Centre.  What’s expected of you on the day?  Eat our food  Enjoy yourself  Design/prototype us some software that will support healthcare using any technology and showcase it at the end of the day in front of our panel.  Bring your own laptop and any other supporting technologies. We will provide Internet access and power, as well as the odd Azure server if needed.  You will be in a team. Points means prizes…    The bulk of the day will allow you to focus on the prototype as this will be awarded the most points. There will be other challenges on the day including SQL, Infrastructure, UI/UX and many more. Join us on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th of June for two interactive days full of learning and inspiration   For the first time in Merseyside over 60 girls, aged 11 to 18 years are invited to the Unilever Offices in Port Sunlight to take part in a two day experience to learn about: the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals practice Design Thinking explore the Kano Computer Kit the iamtheCODE iDEA Curriculum create with technology and code  Our aim is to address the STEAMED (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship and Design) skills shortage in the UK and to inspire the next generation of young women. Most of us have a vague idea that knowledge of computer science will help you get a job, but the actual numbers are pretty shocking. Software powers our economy, but less than 2.4 percent of college students and women graduate with a CS degree. That means there aren’t going to be enough graduates to fill the jobs. To make matters worse, 95 percent of our schools don’t teach programming.    That’s what we’re looking to change at iamtheCODE. Together we can work to create economic empowerment and inclusion through technology.  We have been working globally with technology hubs across Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe and for over two years with the Guildford Library in the Surrey. We have been running Global Digital Fridays, Hackathons, Makerdays, Geek Week, and BootCamps, offering a variety of workshops for participants from age 6 to 85. StudentHack is an all-inclusive, free and fun programming event for students in Manchester. Turns out it is run by students too. StudentHack is back in its 6th edition and promising to deliver an epic event where you will learn and build awesome hacks, by working together with the team behind GreatUniHack. This time it’s a 24-hour hackathon with a space theme!  It is open to students of all levels of experience, so get ready to hack on the moon, everybody! Format Attendees will have 24 hours to build something awesome, either in hardware or software. There will be workshops to get you going with various technology.  Hackers can optionally use sponsor APIs and platforms. At the end of the 24-hour window, people will have time to show either their hack (ready and working), to talk a little about their ideas or what technology they used, what worked and what they had trouble with. We will be providing some hardware, but you are more than welcome to bring your hardware too, to hack on!  Hacks can be made alone or in teams of any size up to 4 members. Teams can be decided at any point before submission and we’ll be having a team-building session before we start, if you’re unsure of who to work with. JOIN MONTEROSA FOR LIVERPOOL’S FIRST-EVER FAN ENGAGEMENT HACKATHON If you fancy applying your digital talents to the world of entertainment and sports, in collaboration with sports industry leaders, then this is for you. Who is staging it? Monterosa, world leading fan engagement tech company, is hosting FanHack with support from both ITV and The Jockey Club. Who is it for? Developers, designers, product managers or anything in-between; whether you’re coming in with years of experience or nothing more than buckets of energy and some new ideas, we want to hear from you. Do I need to bring a whole team? No! Just bring yourself and your imagination and we’ll help establish small teams on the day. What’s the Challenge? You will be tasked on the day with using data, video, AR and mobile apps / webapps to find ways of entertaining and engaging both hard-core racing fans and the casual racegoer. What technologies can I use? The hack’s challenge will be sports data and AR intensive; therefore some experience with ARKit/ARCore will be highly beneficial.
