List of hackathons in Allston, United States in 2016

Organized by Harvard Developers for Development, MIT Global Poverty Initiative, Tufts Entrepreneurs Society, and Tufts Empower, the 4th annual International Development Hackathon (ID Hack) will bring together hackers, technology enthusiasts, and organizations working in international development to create impact with technology. All levels of skills are welcome!

Windward Student Code War invited all programming students to come and show their skills to the world. An 8 hour AI challenge for students who want to stand out and have fun doing it!  Take place at your institution, finalists will go on to compete the next day to win amazing prizes, International bragging rights, and to opportunity to get that first killer job by listing your achievement on your resume! Prizes include: Free HP laptops, tons of free software, and smaller cash prizes for Best Selfie, Best Quote, and Best Story. Competitors include the best and the brightest from: Boston University, Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University, College of William and Mary, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, Columbia University, Computer Science Center – Saint Petersburg, Georgia Institute of Technology, Harvey Mudd College, Hendrix College, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michigan Tech, Penn State, Princeton University, Purdue University, Saint Petersburg State University, Stanford University, UC San Diego, United States Military Academy, University of Alberta, University of Alexandria, University of Central Florida, University of Chicago, University of Colorado, University of Illinois, University of Maryland, University of Massachusetts, University of Toronto, University of Victoria, and the University of Wisconsin!

The Global Game Jam (GGJ), one of the world's largest hackathon on game development, will take place at the MIT Game Lab. Come and explore the global creative gaming atmosphere, while taking part in the process of development, including programming, iterative design, narrative exploration and artistic expression. Don't worry if you don't know how to program, creative idea makers are also very crucial on the process of game development. Also if you are an experienced game player you can take a stab at testing the design.

#HackTrafficking4Good is a 48 hour hackathon find technical solution to combat online sex trafficking. Too many children are at risk of being trafficked for sex and a majority of those victimized in the sex trade are recruited and sold via the web. Developers, engineers, coders, and other experts - the world needs your help!

Hackbeanpot 2016 will introduce you to the best college students from the Boston area and give you the opportunity to work on whatever cool app you have ever dreamt of. Everyone is welcome!
