Launch Alaska Renewable Energy Reverse Hack-a-Thon

Join Launch Alaska for our first ever Renewable Energy Reverse Hack-a-thon, presented in collaboration with the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP), the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP), National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL), the Cold Climate Housing Research Center (CCHRC), and Code for Anchorage.  Participants will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with professionals in the information-technology and energy sectors. Teams will analyze data sets related to Alaska’s energy sector and identify areas for possible new efficiencies and formulate innovative solutions to current challenges facing the state. By bringing together young academics, experienced programmers, and industry experts, we hope to generate interdisciplinary solutions to some of our greatest energy challenges. Please join our Slack channel now to collaborate with other participants. Eligibility:  Anyone interested in finding new opportunities for innovation in the energy sector is eligible! We especially welcome individuals with coding, startup, or relevant educational experience.  Our Objectives: Create actionable solutions and applications to increase the adoption and utilization of renewable energy for consumers, businesses, or the utility sector in Alaska. Help create a thriving renewable energy innovation ecosystem in Alaska by bringing together students, programmers, data analysts, and entrepreneurs. Empower community members by providing the skills and atmosphere to identify and solve local energy challenges. Prizes:  One grand prize of $1,000 for the best perforiming team overall  Two runner up teams will recieve prizes for their performance  All participants will be entered into a raffle to win the opportunity to have lunch with Mayor Ethan Berkowitz  Agenda: MIXER We strongly advise that all participants attend the pre-event mixer to form teams.
