Alexa, how do you create a Skill? Join Ratio’s Hackathon: Hack the Now & the Next: Alexa Edition!   Alexa is the brain behind the voice service powering the Amazon Echo and its family of devices.  Alexa has capabilities (known as Skills) that provide customers with personalized experiences (“Alexa, what’s the weather like in Maui?”).  There are now more than 13,000 skills allowing users to play music, order coffee or call an Uber, all with the just the power of your voice. Team up with a few friends or meet new ones to build an engaging Skill and reach millions of people! Just bring your laptop, Ratio will provide an Alexa device to use during the Hackathon. HARMONY is a hackathon-type meeting, with a focus on development of the standards, interoperability and infrastructure. There are generally not many general discussions or oral presentations during HARMONY; instead, the time is devoted to allowing hands-on hacking and interaction between people focused on practical development of software and standards. Limited funds for travel and registration reimbursement are available for students. Please fill out this form to be considered. If you would like to be reimbursed for registration please DO NOT register until after your application is approved. We will send you a code to allow you to register for free.

DESCRIPTION Join the Seattle Sports Tech Meetup for our Second Annual Hackathon, hosted by the Seattle Sounders and Galvanize Pioneer Square with data provided by Sportradar. We’re seeking teams and individuals who have a desire to contribute to the integration of technology with sports. The Hackathon will take place June 24th-25th, from 8:00AM Saturday to 8:00PM Sunday. Location will be both at the Sounders Ninety and Galvanize Pioneer Square (111 S. Jackson St., Seattle WA 98104) What Do You Get? You could build an app that delivers positive value to your community, a web site satisfying an unmet financial need, a virtual reality game, or whatever your imagination can conceive.

Hackers in the greater Seattle area! Come and participate in the #ExpeditionHacks - Seattle 2017 event. You'll be challenged to come up with an innovative solution that will extract relevant content from a given list of feeds for a variety of personas. Your solution can use all the data sources you want, but your technology must be able to exist within a private cloud.

We are hosting a bi monthly 3D printing classes where youth can come together to practice their 3D printing skills, share their ideas and receive feedback to enhance their 3D products to sell to the community. In this class, students will learn how to creating drones using 3D printing skills. All students will be give 20 minutes of instruction and get hands on experience with 3D printing with realtime feedback from the instructors. We will provide the drone creation kit along with 3D printed frames for students to assemble their own drone. All the money raised from these classes will support hosting STEAM3D Hackathons in our community. In addition, we will be closely collaborating with the students to use the 3D printing skills to solve problems within the community.
