This July, extraSlice is taking the lead in promoting women's’ opportunities in tech fields by hosting a 3-Day Hackathon for women and girls. Participants should start thinking of their ideas now; we’ll hear 60 second pitches from the first 30 participants. We will take the top 10 ideas, and divide the groups in to 10 teams, to execute each idea.
Participants will use technology to create a solution to a common problem from any industry, from shopping and retail, parking, use in volunteer programs, and more. Each of the 10 teams will select a woman to lead, but we welcome and encourage men and boys to participate as well! Diversity is a collaborative exercise!
extraSlice will bring in coaches and advisors before and during the event, to help them develop their startup ideas.

Extensive experience in lean methodologies, product roadmaps, architecture, technology roadmaps (mobile apps and full stack), IT budgets, contracts, cloud services and operations.
Andy Lientz, Smartsheet
Andrew Lientz is the senior vice president of engineering at Smartsheet. With over 20 years of experience as a leader in infrastructure, planning, and SaaS, he has been the founder of, or on the leadership team for, three successful start-ups including content delivery network EdgeCast, web analytics SaaS provider Harvest Solutions, and web development agency Zentropy. As a partner at Microsoft, Andrew led infrastructure efforts in both long range planning and internal CDN development.
Andrew graduated with a B.S. from Harvey Mudd and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. He moved to the Pacific Northwest from Los Angeles in 2012 to experience seasons, more time with his family and an opportunity to walk to work. A goal-oriented fitness enthusiast, he has run a marathon, ridden 100 miles on a bike and bench pressed 500 pounds.
