Girls in Tech San Diego's 2019 Hacking for Humanity Hackathon

Join Girls in Tech San Diego for our Third Annual Hacking for Humanity, a Hackathon for social good! This year our hacking efforts will be focused on tackling topics that deal with our San Diego Veteran Community.
We’ll be hosted at Amazon’s offices in UTC with mentors and speakers from top San Diego tech companies as well as Veteran advocacy networks! Networking and all meals are included!
This hackathon is beginner-friendly for participants new to coding or hackathons. However, any and all levels are welcome. There are lots of opportunities for non-coders as well - in areas like design, project management, and social entrepreneurship, and public presentation! Hacking for Humanity is a woman-, man-, non-binary-, POC-, and LGBTQ-friendly environment!
You can come with your own team (no more than 5 per team) or let us match you with your complimentary hackers!. Form a team, solve a problem, create something awesome, present it to the audience and win prizes!

This Hackathon exists to enable the rapid prototyping of a complex problem and provide a range of solutions in a short period of time. We will inspire and encourage you to tackle big questions around global change and how we can solve them using technology, while also empowering new entrepreneurs to engage in innovation and development within our tech ecosystem. We are calling all women and men across the globe, including developers, designers, product developers, and entrepreneurs, plus businesses that want to embrace the idea of Social Innovation or initiatives that combine a positive mission with business.
The first-place team will receive $1,000, the second-place team will win $500, and the third-place team will win $250. Additional prizes will be announced soon, so sign up for our newsletter to receive updates.

Join us for IAC Eitanim San Diego Mini Hackathon
IAC Eitanim brings together the next generation’s Jewish-American and Israeli-American middle and high school students for an immersive, innovative, project-based learning experience which strengthens participants’ Jewish identity and builds their connection to Israel. A Mini Hackathon is a taste from the IAC Eitanim program, in which the teens will work in groups on a real-life task, written by the Permanent Mission of Israel United Nations. Each group will work with a mentor to create the best solution to the task. For that the teens will research Israel and technological innovations, target audiences, make a financial and marketing plan and by the end of the day, they will present the solution to a panel of judges and compete for the best solution.The Mini hackathoמ is for 7th-12th graders how would like to experience teamwork, brainstorming, research and learn how to pitch.Kosher Breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided. There's good Wifi and a number of power outlets
Some parking on the street is unrestricted but some have 2 hour limits (the best parking is typically on Felspar)
