Women techies in Minneapolis! Want to know what really comes out of a hackathon? Attend Women in Tech and Startups—The Real Journey, to hear the stories of Hack the Gap alumni and what they have been working on since the 2015 and 2016 spring hackathons. Afterwards, stick around for the fishbowl discussion on the unique journey of women in tech and startups.

The mission of this demo day weekend event is to unite the women of the tech community, giving them a space to meet, innovate, and create together. Bringing more than just awareness of the gender gap in technology by doing something about it. Attendees will be asked to form teams consisting of programmers, designers, testers, and idea people. The teams will build a product idea from scratch using any technology, they will consult with mentors throughout the day to ask questions and get feedback. At the end of the weekend, the teams will demo their product to a panel of judges from the community.

Hack the Gap All-Women Hackathon is for women and non-binary individuals inviting idea people, designers, data people, testers, and programmers. You do not especially need to know how to code. During this two-day hackathon you will have fun, connect with others and challenge yourself to build a weekend project with a team. Hack the Gap is a place for women, a safe place to hack, explore and build without the headwinds of inherent bias and sexisim in tech.
