The MIT App Inventor Summit 2016 is annually organized by the MIT Center for Mobile Learning and the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). The event will include workshops, DIY, and hackathons for learning new skills and creating apps. The Summit will be organized into tracks. Two tracks identified thus far are Education and Health/Medicine. A diverse range of individuals, including: research scientists; educators from formal and informal settings; NGO staff members; computer scientists; representatives from industry; entrepreneurs; and others are all welcome to attend this exciting 3 days. Get the opportunity to share current work, form new collaborations, and stay abreast of the latest developments within the MIT App Inventor community. The theme of this Summit is MAKE!

This is the first Content Marketing Hackathon organized by Boston Content to work on marketing skills for early stage startups in need of marketing strategies. An opportunity to work with a completely new team of people, learn brainstorming strategy and get inspired by new ideas while you help a young company succeed with their marketing efforts. The hackathon will kick off with a startup from WeWork presenting their marketing strategies. Next, you will brainstorm to identify the top 3 marketing initiatives that the startup should pursue. Then, you'll break up into 3 groups where you'll spend an hour coming up with ideas for how to tackle one of these initiatives and present their recommendations to the rest of the group. There will be networking before and after the session and drinks and snacks will be provided by General Assembly.

Harvard Hacking Autism

This hackathon is organized by Harvard and Blue Umbrella with the aim to meaningfully improve the lives of people with autism. Students and community members are invited to join for a day of brainstorming, ideating, and prototyping. Participants will form teams, and then present final pitches to a judging panel, highlighting innovative solutions to address the challenges surrounding autism. Attendees will be asked to develop products and/or business concepts or come with existing ideas to help or feedback on. This could include designing a solution to address language and communication disorders, outlining a new concept for adaptive play, pitching a solution around employment services, or designing a plan for a new residential community. There will be end-users on hand to help participants better understand these challenges. You do not need to bring any additional materials, but may bring a laptop or other supplies that you may find helpful. Participantscan be from any kind of background including healthcare, business, education, tech, design, and more. No technical experience or prior knowledge on autism is required for this hackathon.
