Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek ) is a program dedicated to raising awareness about the need to elevate computer science education at all levels and to underscore the critical role of computing in all careers. During CSEdWeek, we will be hosting 3 Hour of Code events, and a Holiday Hackathon . In the Holiday Hackathon, we’re challenging ninjas to bring their coding chops and creativity to develop their own video game for a chance to win fantastic prizes! For kids 7-14, some experience with Scratch required. Kids will work in teams of two to build games in Scratch, using a game template provided by Code Ninjas. Girls and Boys, 4-8th grade, are invited to join RHoK Jr at a special one day hackathon at Howard Whittemore Public Library where they will be working with computer science mentors, to create technology for social good by helping local charities.     Android devices will be provided for building and testing apps, but you are welcome to bring your own. Participants may also bring their own laptops to work on.   The program is supported by a grant from the Connecticut Community Foundation.
