Sowing results 2 out of 2
HackCincy 2018
10 Nov - 10:00 AM
Cincinnati, United States
Compete for over $10,000 in cash prizes, including a $5,000 grand prize winner, over 24 hours!
Why Another Hackathon?
Because a hackathon is about more than the final presentation. We've seen too many teams win without building anything more than a landing page and a "business model". This goes against the spirit of what a hackathon is, which is raw technical creativity. We want developers / designers and product people of all technical levels to come out and learn something new, break something, maybe even set something on fire (please don't though). The teams that walk away with prizes are those who came out the other side with something working, impressive and a weekend they can be proud of.
What Does My Ticket Include?
Access to the event, and the opportunity to take home 10k in cash prizes.
Swag including tee-shirts / a water bottle / a bag and maybe some other surprises :)
6 meals from some amazing eateries around OTR, including drinks!
Rules
Up to 5 people per team.
Must have working project at end of hackathon.
All code must have been written during the hackathon. Prepare for your code to be reviewed upon submission.
Winning projects will be polished, working and unique. Come prepared to build something!
DO I NEED TO COME WITH A TEAM?
No! Many teams will form on Saturday morning at the event. Hackathons are a fun way to make new friends in the industry. Working side-by-side to build something new is a powerful bonding experience.
DO I NEED TO COME WITH A PROJECT IDEA?
No! Some teams do come with a project idea, ready to build. Many do not. Some participants will have a great project but need a team to help them build it. Hackathon organizers can offer direction if your team is struggling to choose.
DO I NEED TO STAY THE ENTIRE 29 HOURS?
No. Take breaks when you want. Sleep when you want. A lot of teams are so excited to complete their project that they work straight through the night. Other participants prefer to get some rest and take some time to sleep, either at the event or at home.
DO I NEED TO HAVE A LOT OF DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE?
We welcome participants with any level of experience. Hackathons are a great opportunity to improve and learn new development / design and product development skills.
WHAT ABOUT PARKING?
There are a number of parking lots in the immediate area of Union Hall. Find options here. Better yet, take a bus, bike, or e-scooter!
