The College App Hackathon is a two-part event intended to help students maximize the funding they receive to attend college and polish their applications to be more competitive for admission.

Several Colleges will offer: On-site Admissions, Scholarship Decisions, and Fee Waivers

Event is FREE but Time Entry Pass is required. One pass per high school senior - family welcome to attend.

The full day seminar will be hosted by Temple University's College of Public Health- Department of Health Services Administration and Policy. This event is free and open to prospective MSHI students. We welcome all current and prospective graduate students and alumni to participate in TU Hack Health Day.
Theme – Building Skills for Health Informatics Students: Exploring the Meaningful Use Public Use Files (MUPUF) – You will leverage publicly available data to explore skills in usability and design, data architecture and analysis.
You should access beforehand and bring to class: Recent copy of MS Office Excel, register and create a Balsamiq account (note that only one free project is provided). Download the Analysis Add Inn (note Mac users may not have access to this functionality). Download a demo version of Qlik prior to the event.
Learning Objectives: Understand simple data analysis techniques. Explore commonly used platforms to assess data elements and database design. Create a wire diagram of a mobile application.
Please bring a laptop to use during the event.

Empathy Hack: Building Empathy Through Technology and Art

Abington Art Center is bringing together a talented group of key thought leaders across art and technology for an immersive exploration of empathy. Participants of all ages, interests, digital skills and non-skills are welcome.
Questioning how to design for everyone will lead a day of communication groups and prototype modeling. Demos of the latest technologies will be set up with experts on-site to discuss how these innovations will shape our future.
Hackathon Challenge: Participants will take insights from the presentations to identify key areas where developing with empathy is most needed. Participants will present their ideas and reasoning behind them. Judges will choose the winning idea to be built out for the next series event in the fall.

Don Undeen - Founding and Senior Manager of the MediaLab at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is currently an independent consultant based in Washington DC, Manager of the new Maker Hub at Georgetown University, and involved in a range of initiatives that connect the vision of the arts to the practical needs of business and social entrepreneurship.
Austin Seraphin - Co-founder of Philly Touch Tours, is an accessibility consultant, blind from birth, who brings a unique perspective as a technologist to the user experience. Proficient with the Apple platform, Austin designs uniquely operational features in app development via screen reading and assisted technologies in mobile devices.
Callie Leone - A global strategist for startups and marketing whiz, Callie works to define the future of technologies with a focus on AR and VR, spearheads strategic initiatives for humanitarian and disaster relief and brings thought leadership to business ventures in both the USA and Europe.
Robert Peagler - Chief Problem Solver (CPS) for Social Innovation Solutions, Rob is focused on the development of strategies to align multiple stakeholders to effect large-scale and sustainable systems change. Rob co-founded the Design Studio for Social Intervention (DS4SI) at MIT, worked as a strategist on the W. K. Kellogg Foundation's New Options Project, and was a member of IBM Research's Market Analysis & Strategy group. Rob is a proud dropout of the University of East London’s SmartLab doctoral program in Design and Social Emergence.
Luke Schantz - A multi-disciplinary technologist, Luke’s work spans artistic, technical and business ventures. His own practice primarily engages collaborative, creative projects. Currently a technology-maven with the IBM Global Entrepreneur Program, providing technical mentorship to startup businesses. Previously, Luke spent five years working with the Blue Man Group. His creative innovations for Blue Man have been seen by millions of people worldwide. He is a featured influencer for technology brands such as Makerbot and 3D Systems.
This event is the first of a series focusing on designing and building technology that fosters a deeper sense of connection and compassion in our society. Food and drink will be available throughout the day. Limited spots available.

HYPE Foundation, a global platform connecting and investing in sports innovation initiating a Sports Innovation is holding a (SPIN) Final competition, with a focus on American football and sports innovations together along with Temple University, the and hosting participating partner. This competition will crown the Most Innovative Sports Startup leading up to the grand prize, mega exposure and opportunity to impact the world of sports.
The 10 chosen innovative startups will pitch their companies to leading figures from top Sports and Tech Brands, Investors, the NFL Community, and Jury esteemed members. (See list below)
The final is located near the venue of the NFL Draft 82nd annual meeting to select newly eligible football players.

About SPIN Final - 2 Day Event
The Sports Innovation (SPIN) FINAL event will incorporate two days dedicated to promoting innovation in sports:
Ideation Hackathon: the first day, April 25th, 2017, will hold an on-campus hackathon, with student mentoring in the ideation process, to present solutions that will better the world of American football and sports. Sports & Fitness Innovation Global Competition: The second day, April 26th, 2017, will include a networking session prior to the main competition that will include 10 pitching startups, esteemed jury and VIP audience within the sports tech and NFL influencers & leaders, taking place at Temple University Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.
